Prior to rafting here, I asked several Jamaicans in the resort reception, in town and at the Rio Grande, if rafting with small kids would be somehow dangerous. Everybody reassured me, but the trip was indeed dangerous. At the first rapid, the canoe running behind our overturned, with one passenger being nearly carried away by the currents. Our captain finally... More

did not enjoy the taxi ride to the beginning spot of where the rafts are waiting for you to start the 2 hour journey down the river. great bamboo rafts only 2 people per raft. took a lunch break half way down - a couple of floating vendors along the way if you wish to have drinks or a meal.

We took a rafting trip here and as it was the slower season in Sept there was not even 1 other raft on the river. It was absolutely fantastic. It is far less commercial that the Martha Brea and our guide was awesome. He also sang as he paddled!

This tip is amazing. It doesn't compare to that other trip on the river on the other side of the island. We were out all day it was so relaxing. We stopped for an outstanding lunch and then completed out trip. The entire trip took hours and was more than fun. I would recommend it for anyone.

We were lucky enough to experience and incredible rafting trip down an incredibly beautiful river. Our captain Austin was so friendly and knowledgeable. The water is crystal clear and refreshing. As an added treat we stopped at Bylinda's for lunch, which was fabulous and she is so sweet. A really special experience that we highly recommend.

Rafting on the Rio Grande was one of the highlights of my trip. It was calming and peaceful. Stopping to have lunch 3/4 of the way of the 2.5 hours trip was great. The local cuisine was delicious.

If you get to Port Antonio, Jamaica you must go rafting on the Rio Grande. 2 and 1/2 hrs of peacefulness and incredible scenery. Halfway down you can buy an amazing lunch from Belinda and continue down to Rafters Rest. Our raft guy was Anthony and he stopped to pick beautiful purple and yellow flowers for us. A must do....
