    A Great Grotto experience
From the greeting we received, to the point we exited the tour, our group of adults, teens and younger kids felt welcome and at ease. The tour guide Shanna-Gaye had a nice personality and delivered information throughout the tour in an engaging way. We all had a great time on this approx.45 minute tour. I would recommend it for anyone interested in learning more about Jamaica's pre and post colonial past. You also get to see very interesting rock formations and an underground lake. Just note that to do this tour, you have to be fit enough to bend, climb inclines and navigate stairs. All in all, we had an awesome time.

Visit was just good 3rd time round
Nice spot and good tour guide. Lots of history here based on what was shared. The atmosphere is as it should be naturally creepy but beautiful at the same time. Front desk greeting could be better but I suspect after doing this all day a bit of a mood will set in for most. All and all my this was my daughter’s first time and she enjoyed it. The first time is always the best.

    AMAZING EXPERIENCE
Dec 26, 2023. My husband and I just did the Green Grotto tour. It was amazing, informative and just unbelievably site under this enormous cave. The bats, fish, limestone, rock formation. What more can I say. If you a nature person or not you will be amazed. Please wear the helmet, you are give to prevent a busted head because in some area of the rock is very low and my husband hit his head a few times. The helmet prevents a busted skull. CHEDDAR the tour guide was informative and hilarious. 😆 🤣 😂

Great Experience but a little pricey
We arrived about 10:30am from our 10 min taxi ride from Runaway Bay. No waiting at entrance, purchased tickets and assigned a guide for the 3 of us. We have been to other caves, but this was quite interesting as we saw many bats resting in the 'ceiling', a boa constrictor, and lizard. Guide was very informative, and the tour was finished in about 30 minutes. The current owner (government) seems to be doing a good job preserving its beauty.

The Green Grotto Caves, and amazing experience
Visited the green grotto caves as part of a shore excursion from our cruise ship. Our guide, Chedd, met us at the mouth of the caves and outfitted us with hard hats and a history lesson of the caves. This was one of the best shore excursions we enjoyed on our cruise. It is a long underground walk, underground lakes and local bats. The caves are exceptionally clean and mostly kept in their natural state. If you are visiting Jamaica, I highly recommend a visit to the caves, and request Chedd - an outstanding tour guide. Entrance fee is $20.

Fun and educational tour with Chedd
We had a very interesting and memorable tour with Chedd; he was great joking around with my kids, and also teaching the history, biology, and geology of the cave. We arrived in Falmouth by cruise ship. Royal Caribbean's excursion prices were exorbitant. So we hired our own taxi at the port. He took us straight there, waited for us to tour, and drove us back to the port. We arrived before they even opened for tours so we walked around the area for a little beforehand. We had the first tour of the day on our own, and completed the tour before the RC excursion bus even arrived! So we missed the crowd and it was a lot less expensive. Hard hats are used to keep from hitting your head on the cave roof. They also provide a hairnet/shower cap for those that are squeamish about their hair. Definitely a worthwhile visit and we felt safe the entire time. Love Jamaica! After touring the cave in the morning, we returned to the port and had plenty of time to tour Falmouth on a guided walking tour, which I highly recommend also. The locals are wonderfully friendly and there is much to see in Falmouth outside the confines of the port.

Takes about 45 minutes from Run Away Bay. Least expensive tour around this area. Cost us $40.00 US for taxi ( set up by our hotel concierge), to and from plus the $20.00 US per person entry and tip for the guide. There are bats in the cave. We arrive just after opening and got a private tour. Our guide was great. Informative and funny. Obviously, all caves are different. Smaller then many but we were not disappointed.
There were some steep stairs to climb in 2 areas. I would not recommend this tour for small children or people over 70 unless you're in good shape leg wise.
When we came out there was a group of 8 going in. Earlier you go the better. Bring bug spray for mosquitos. Descent bathrooms on site.

We had a day with not much going on and didn't care to drive far, we were in Runaway Bay. We went here after eating across the street. It was good and we enjoyed it. However I wouldn't go out of your way for it, it was a nice thing to do to fill in our day.

Our guide was very knowledge and friendly. We were a group of 7 and he kept us entertained as well as provide the history of the caves. Our favorite part was the bats resting in the ceiling of the cave. The tour was just the right length, about 45 minutes. I would recommend this tour.
