A great place to view on the walk exploring Old San Juan. It was great to see the gate where persons entered the city in past years. Nice stop and photo op on your tour of the city.

This is something to wear comfortable shoes to. The picture you can take is actually pretty neat but not much else to see.

Interesting walk to find this gate and get a sense of the past. Cool to see the Governor's house above the gate. Very pleasant!

Clean area, with police surveillance, comfortable for the walker and with much history to tell. With adequate shade.

This is a huge fortified structure with a lot of history behind it. Take a bus tour (air conditioned) with a good tour guide to get the most out of the history.

We stumbled on the gate while walking along the city walls on a early Saturday morning. Beautiful entrance into the old city. At 8am in the morning, we had the whole place to ourselves, very cool experience.

No tickets required! Only for the fortresses and they are cheap. The beaches are good and you can do as you like. Pretty safe IMHO.
