This church built in the 1520s I believe Is across from El Convento Hotel on a square with artists. There are several beautiful side chapels each unique. Make sure you look in each alcove. Free to enter but donation is requested. Ponce deLeon is buried...More

Beautiful church that is the Cathedral of Old San Juan. Simple and not very ornate but with beautiful stain glass windows and many statues of Saints and chapels. We were looking for ashes on Ash Wed. and found a young Priest doing confessions and giving...More

Beautiful Cathedral, especially when you factored in the history. In addition to Ponce de Leon, there is a Saint entombed there either named St Pius or St Pio. Fascinating story as to how he got there!

This was a neat stop during our day in Old San Juan. It is a beautiful church, with a lot of pretty art. Seeing the resting place of Ponce de Leon was neat, and seeing the relic of Saint Pius was also interesting.

I'm not a huge church guy, but the church itself was beautiful, and I honestly did appreciate the architecture and detail put into this place

The cathedral was worth seeing if you are walking in the area, but I don't think that it is worth going out of your way to visit.

In contrast to some Cathedrals this one is light and welcoming. The domes are particularly light, which give the building a sense of spaciousness. the columns are painted in a light colour, and it is worth stopping and resting a while inside.

We attended Mass at this Church. It's a beautiful old church that is trying to recover from hurricane damage. If you visit make sure you leave a donation in their church restoration fund.
