Definitely tells many stories as you realize why they buried their dignitaries in the manner they did.

The location of this cemetery is beautiful. It's seems very sacred just by how it is set up. Being right next to the Fort makes it even more amazing. The lush green acres, the beautiful water in the background and of course the beautiful colors of the building.

In the shadow of the fortress of San Filipe del Morro just outside of the city walls of Old San Juan is nestled the historic Santa María Magdalena de Pazzis Cemetery. Originally dedicated in 1863 the cemetery is the final resting place of several prominent Puerto Ricans. The memorials are constructed in the European style with stone or concrete slabs... More

Went here after walking along the promenade of the old town walls. It overlooks the rough sea and is very scenic. You have to stand on a wall to have a good look down at it but it is well worth the effort,.

Wandered down from El Morro to this cemetery on the edge of the beach. Very interesting reading some of the history of San Juan from the headstones. Great view of the sea as well!

Went to cemetery while looking at historic sites. This is a well kept cemetery full of history. The cemetery has some wonderful marble statues such as angels and other pieces which families remember loved ones. I would highly recommend a walk thru this place.

Beautiful, serene, amazing. Directly adjacent to the Fort of San Cristobal and the large 'yard' area where people/families seem to gather to picnic, fly kites, kick soccer balls.... you can see this beautiful resting place that overlooks the ocean... just lovely.

I had to convince my boyfriend to take a detour here, but I'm so glad we did. The statues within the cemetery (on the graves) are beautiful. It's interesting that nearly everyone has an above ground resting place, as I had never seen that before. The view of the forts and the ocean are also stunning. Definitely worth the walk... More

The cemetery is near Castillo San Felipe del Morro and sandwiched between the ocean and the ocean. Great views from above, inside the wall, looking into the cemetery, and also great views inside the cemetery. Some amazingly ornate graves. Well worth wandering through here.
