It has a lot of hotels, shops, grocery stores, restaurants, bars, hospital, pharmacies, and the beach is close by. However, there are a few homeless people on the street. This is a tourist area with a lot of 3 and 5 stars hotels, so it's...More

A good place to visit if you want to see some nightlife, bars, restaurants and people. But its not what its compared to. Few shoops mostly closed in the evening. But a good and safe place for tourists. Lots of places to eat and drink.

Our hotel was close to this avenue so the first thing we did was to walk to find a restaurant. You have more than plenty to choose from at the Ashford avenue from expensive to cheap eats. The walk takes you to pretty places and...More

Wandered here after dark, doesn't seem like a very family friendly place. Number of homeless on the street, lots of drinking.

This seems to be a spot where the traffic is nonstop. However, there are lots of shops and restaurants along the route.

It's not that Ashford Avenue is necessarily exciting, it's just where the majority of all of the really great restaurants are located in the Condado area of San Juan. You won't need to rent a car and pay ridiculous parking costs - you really can...More

Your large hotels are on the beach (Marriott, Hilton, La Concha) and some are right across the street from the beach. I would google earth Ashford Avenue in Condado to get a better view of the hotel locations

I can not remember which Hotel is next door to Condado Plaza, but I stayed at El Canario by The Sea which is closeby. Hope that helps.
