The building is amazing and attention drawing. Beautiful design and detailing. On a December weekend it seemed closed and not open for visitors. Seeing it even externally is a rewarding experience. Beautiful. And part of a beautiful street which seems to have suffered some 2020 earthquake damage.

Transport to the past. Visiting Ponce with family and looking places to see?, This is one of the mandatory ones. See How the people during 19th and beginning of 20th century live. This place is in great shape and preserved to next generations. We liked. Part of Ponce History that everyone need to know.

I've been visiting Ponce regularly for the past 2 years and did not know this beautiful place existed . Knows about the family , the architecture and the paintings in the house . Took note about them to find further information. One thing to mention is the passion exhibited by the tourist guide giving the tour. I'm thankful for a wonderful morning learning about the past and my culture.

Our visit was short [less than an hour] because the museum was closing, but we both greatly enjoyed seeing the interior of this "pink palace" built in 1911 by its owner, architect Alfredo Wiechers.
Ponce-born Wiechers studied & worked in Paris & Barcelona -- and this shows in his home where the unaltered interiors, filled with original furniture, have been well-maintained.
I really enjoyed seeing the Art Nouveau furniture & tiles.

This house is a great example of the architecture of the time the house was built. It is also a great example of the way well-to-do families lived in Ponce in the late 19th and early 20th centuries.
My only complaint is that the guide did not take us to the very top of the structure, which seems to have a balcony.

I can not describe in words, how beautiful is this pice of architect. He's first owner Alfredo Wiechers filled this unique house with the most exquisite furniture of that time. you can also, see how the original furniture are all well-maintained . The tour guide is a man that know a lot, but a lot of history about the live of both owners and how it was made or construct the house. It is highly recommend if you visit Ponce. Also, the museum is free. You can also had a map of the town to track all the greatest places to visit .

The house has a beautiful details is also call by the locals the" wedding cake." Is free ans open to the public. The problem with some site in the island is budget cut and lack of docents. When we visited the house the secretary gave the tour,She was very well prepared and took her time.We have great time and enjoyed the air condition on a very hot day.

Beautiful looking from the outside but seems closed or perhaps damaged? It was closed at 2pm on a Wed when all sources including TripAdvisor shows open hours. Not sure if this place is still open, call ahead.

What a gem! We arrived shortly before the house would be closing for lunch hour. The kind gentleman who admitted us insisted on showing us a few things before we left for lunch and said to return at 1:00. We did and learned so much about the architecture, the builder and the culture at the time the house was built. He opened shutters to expose brilliant stained glass windows and showed how the function of a space could change with opening or shutting a few doors. The climb up the spiral staircase to the roof top rotunda (if that is the correct term) was a bit scary but the view beautiful. It was well worth the trip, and I hope the house can remain so well preserved, and the beautiful city of Ponce receive the restoration it deserves.
