This is a fun tower. My favorite part were the open windows that you could look out while remaining in the shade. The view from. The top was pretty fantastic.
We took our 3 kids, ages 6-16, and they all enjoyed it. Be sure to stop here as you drive by. Come early so you get a parking spot.

The parking lot had lot of place due to restrictions on the entry. The walk to the top was exciting for the kids. At each floor, the scenery became more beautiful with the top being the best. The view of the ocean with town in the background was amazing. on the other side, the mountain peak view was great. They had soda and water for purchase at the entrance also.

Worth the climb up the spiral steps to the top for the view if you are in the forest area.
It was busy when we were there as several groups.
Toilets on site but a long queue as always for the ladies.
The forest generally, that we saw was disappointing though.

The tower itself is nothing special, but probably the biggest highlight of excursions made to El Yunque. The views from the tower is very nice, you can even see to the sea from here. Personally, i prefer to walk in the rainforest and see plants and wildlife close by- from the tower however, you will only see the rainforest vistas from afar. It's nice for photos and a nice view, but nothing more. You are only left with a nice instagram post and memories of how you did not enter the real rainforest. Maybe you will in the future since El Yunque is still in recovery after the hurriances of 2017.

We drove the road in El Yunque Rainforest the first day we got there and it was around 5. We didn't get to the tower until after 5 and there were very few people there, so we were able to get photos without others in them. The next day we went back on the road and there were a lot of people visiting when we came down and drove by. That would have been around 11- 12.
Fun to see though and I would suggest getting out and walking around it.

I am decidedly NOT a fan of climbing up flights and flights of stairs to get to the top of things. I've done it any number of times, and usually it's just a boring, slog counting stairs til you get to the top where you stand gasping for air and trying to enjoy the view past all the other puffing and panting tourists.

This was different.

Rather than a continuous flight of stairs, there are short landings in between, and these landings have arched windows where you can look out. There are beach views, mountain views, and simply rainforest views.

You can stand there and pretend to be enjoying the view as you catch your breath.
You can stand there and take what turn out to be some of your best pictures from the trip.
You can stand there and actually enjoy the view.

Frankly, I thought the trip up was better than the view at the top.
And I don't say that often. Ever.

Inevitable gift shop and restroom available.

Make reservations over the internet. Although you might be able to visit the non- reserve area of The Yunque, this tower is part of the area under the Federal Government for which you need permit and to pay for your entrance.
