The entrance is a little tricky but once you find it is a nice 5-6 minute walk to the beach. When you get to the beach area is very serene. The sand is black and tan (regular sand color) and it seems to sparkle, personally...More

Definitely worth the photo op and the walk through the dry creek bed was super cool. We were there on June and the sand was a little smelly. We didn't stay long.

Its fun to see and play in the black sand, but it is not a nice beach to stay at and there is not much snorkeling around either.

You must visit the Black Sand Beach when in Vieques. The parking is a bit tricky. The walk to the beach is a great way to see local wildlife, horses and fruit trees. Be sure to go at low tide if you want to explore.

This is a bit of a hike (15 minutes or so) down a well worn easy path and worth it to see something so unique as black magnetic sand! Ask locals if they've seen it in the last day or two before you go. Sometimes...More

The lath from main road to the beach was more fun than the beach itself! Not impressed with the 10x10 spot of blackish sand.
