This is a beautiful place and quite honestly the one and only highlight of this destination. There are small shells covering the entire beach. The water is beautiful and the background is rock with cactus. What a beautiful place. There is not any shade, so an umbrella is a great idea.

We were there for lunch at Shellona and walked along the shore to enjoy some sea breeze and a beautiful view of the boats saling across

Shell beach is a short walk from the town centre and well worth the effort. As the name suggests it is covered in shells and shines brightly in the sun. Several sun bathers were topless but if that does not concern you it is definitely the place to be.

Ok, I confess, I'm over 60, and the pump pump pump of the Euro-trash dance beat wears a little thin on me. But a cold beer at sunset on Shell Beach is a must do for St Barth's. The little restaurant here used to be Do Brazil, now it's Shellarona or something, (sorry can't remember the name) and it is... More

The beach is lovely: pretty shells instead if sand make it so special. Have a burger in the nearby Do Brazil, or enjoy a sunset apéro, or even a night dancing on the beach when they have live music with invited DJs! A big advantage is proximity of Gustavia. No natural shade on the beach though, unless you rent a... More

Family of 4 travelling with teens. After spending most of the day at St. Jean Beach, we stopped briefly in the afternoon at Shell Beach. The beach was crowded, and while the water was lovely, walking on the shells hurt my wife's feet. While not nearly as nice as St. Jean, it's VERY convenient if you only have a short... More

Great place to sunbath and swim within a couple blocks of downtown Gustavia. OK, not a natural environment with the shells dumped on the beach for tourists, but then this is St. Barths. The bay is pretty and the bar adjacent to the beach is new and a happening place (January 2017).

One of the best beaches in St Barths. Its normally calm with gently rolling waves. Do Brazil has closed and now a new restaurant has just opened. It certainly has lost the charm and atmosphere it once had. The newly renovated restaurant is beautiful and it definitely looks more high end. Sadly now we will need to bring our own... More

It was incredibly easy to walk to Shell Beach from downtown Gustavia, and even on Christmas Eve in the afternoon, the beach wasn't packed. As everyone else has said, it's a gorgeous shell beach (surprise!) and the water is a gorgeous Caribbean blue. We hadn't had much luck snorkeling in the area, but actually did spot some great fish -... More

We visited Shell Beach while on a day trip to the area, it was a beautiful day and we enjoyed the sun and also the water. It was very relaxing and peaceful. There are several rock formations and/or boulders here which are very cool to see.
