Great beach visit on St. Lucia.

I heard about Vigie Beach, from two ladies from Winnipeg. We were bobbing in the surf off Copacabana Beach,Barbados.Judy and Brenda, told the story of their visit to St. Lucia, the day before. The ladies, from Canada, were on a different ship from me. The girls asked what I paid for Copacabana Beach? I answered $80. They laughed, instead of a tour the ladies took a cab... More

Visited last week. walked from cruise ship , it was along walk (1hr). ( not like my google map suggested!) We first asked a police lady , 'which way?' and she told us . Surely if unsafe she would have said! ) On the way one or two taxi drivers stopped and told us its an unsafe beach especially on... More

We recently had a day in Castries St Lucia on our carribean cruise. For a change we thought we would give Vigie Beach a try, rather than going to Rodney Bay. We were delighted with our day there. We rented chairs for £5 each, didnt need an umberella because there was plenty of shade under the trees. There are some... More

We were on a cruise ship and walked about 30 minutes or a mile and a half to Vigie Beach. The entrance is basically at the end of the airport runway and next to the Rendevous Resort. The beach has nice sand and some shade trees. The ocean has some surf and shallow waves. There are no facilities, such as... More

Young Lucian men / teenagers are on this beach and most beaches; they will steal anything you have. In most cases these fellows have shorter braided Rasta hair, they will have a back pack, ball hat, about 5.10 inches tall / they will watch you and if you leave your bag on the beach while going swimming they sneak up,... This beach 3 minutes away by taxi or 30 minutes walking distance from port of berth in Castries is great for anyone, couple or group to relax for " A DAY AT THE BEACH "

This is a fantastic beach with almost two miles of soft sand and gentle waves to stroll along or splash around in. We have spent our holiday walking daily along this stretch of beach and have to say that all of the locals we passed were some of the politest people we have met in the Caribbean.

St Lucia was a stop on our Southern Caribbean cruise. After a boat tour to the Pitons (an absolute must) we found a local cab driver to take us to a beach close to the port. We didn't know what to expect, and at first Vigie Beach didn't seem like much. There is a resort, but a security guard told... More

We visited Vigie Beach after a morning cruise down to see the Pitons. With the limited amount of time we had left (visited via cruise ship), our cab driver recommended this beach since it is close to the docks. We found the place to be a local delight. We were dropped off by Ms. Pam's beer and food stand where... More

Great beach find! Long strip of sand for walking. Lots of shade trees to throw a towel down under. No chair rentals or beachfront restaurants or hawkers--so lots of peace and quiet! We had the place practically to ourselves!
