We checked it out as part of an overall tour of the island. Lots of locals with a smattering of tourists. Great view from the hills above. The usual local markets/food with a smallish beach. I would not make it a specific destination though.

First of they have markets next to the sea. Second you feel safe in town. Third it is a big fishing village. Last I would love to come back for the Friday fish fry.

This was our first taste of life in St. Lucia . Anse La Raye is a quaint little fishing village with a sandy beach. Fish is landed by the locals and processed by the harbour !!! People seem to have a simple life and rely...More

We drove from Soufriere to Anse La Raye on Friday night only to discover that apparently the fish fry does not in fact happen every Friday, because it decidedly wasn't happening that night. There's a big pavilion by the water where the festivities are centered,...More

We stopped in the village for lunch at Benny's Place. We had pumpkin soup to start with, followed by a buffet style main course. This included locally caught tuna, chicken and a nice variety of local vegetables. We had a good meal and friendly personal...More
