Great beach, take lots of sun cream and a sun umbrella, as there's no shade on the beach! Luckily, there is a guy selling fresh coconut water, so welcome. Great town for shopping. There are some great bars and restaurants too.

A typical touristy place. Good restaurants, shops and bars. Could be anywhere. Some local gems can still be found, like the Daily Cafe Island Mix.

We were a party of 8 that rented a 50’ catamaran from The Moorings Charter company in Rodney Bay. We sailed for 7 days from St Lucia to The Grenadines. We were briefed by the company about the operation of the boat and what areas we should avoid on our sail. During our 7 days we sailed to Marigot, Bequia, Mayreau, Tobago Cays and Union Island. The scenery is beautiful. Each night we would anchor in a different port of call. In Mayreau, our dingy was stolen by the locals and held for ransom. We contacted the Moorings to let them know what had happened. At that time they informed us that this is a common occurrence. ( why were we not informed of this at our briefing?)They said they would notify the local authorities and would send a representative to help us resolve this problem. The authorities were never called and it turns out the representative they sent was sent to help us negotiate the “Ransom” which started at 1000,00(US) We ended up having to pay 400.00 to get back a dingy with a hole and missing a motor. The representative told us we got a “good deal”. A day later the Moorings delivered a working dingy to us as ours was no longer functional. Needless to say we were unsettled after this experience. We would lock the cabin of our boat each night but on two occasions we could hear people walking on the deck of our boat late at night. Again, unsettling. Some of the locals we encountered at each port of call were friendly, fair and accommodating. However, we also experienced some who were confrontational and trying to charge you far more than the going rate for services. We made the best of this trip but would not return to this area. We felt the Moorings should have done a better job informing us of theft and unsafe conditions in this area. It is unfortunate that the actions of some of the locals are going to discourage tourists from wanting to visit this area. I would not recommend using this company or sailing these islands.…

We took a boat ride an Rodney Bay in Castries, St. Lucia for one of our tours. We were able to see the island from the water. We passed some of the big resorts and were able to catch a beautiful sunset on the ride back
