From a tourist perspective this was a great find. It was comfortable sitting in the reading room and the wifi was blitzing fast. However it highlighted how far countries like St Lucia have to come as far as libraries are concerned. Charge tourists for the...More

This is a good spot to have a meeting, entertain your kids, use wi-fi or computers, and even make use of local history resources. There is an extensive St. Lucian and West Indian collection that includes a lot of unique resources not held anywhere else...More

I like the architecture of this old building and it's an active local library so you're welcome inside, but you can't take any books without membership. Still they're very welcoming to all visitors and if you like to read it's worth a look and photo....More

Wonderful library. Friendly and inspiring staff who are willing to assist with questions (or even if you are just stopping in for a quick look around or using the Wifi). Worth a visit if you are in Castries.

Architecture and color really stand out from rest of the area so most admiring can be done from the street. Inside is a step back in time with many ancient looking books stored inaccessibility upstairs in tall bookcases lining the periphery of the walls. Old...More

I like to visit the local public libraries on my vacations and since Castries central library was just a few blocks away from the cruise ship pier, Derek Walton Square, and the cathedral, I stopped by. I noticed that the library opened its doors already...More

Great Architectural Frontage to this building as was typical of the period that it was built. There are not too many local buildings in the centre of Castries that are from this Era which is such a shame as this is a great cultural iconic...More

We will be visiting Saint Lucia for two months starting February 1st. to April 1st. We are avid readers and hope we can borrow books from your beautiful library. We will be lost if we don't have a book to read at the beach. I look forward to hearing from you. I forget to ask if there are books in English available? thank you, Dom DeMaio

We are two seniors from New York who will be visiting your beautiful Island for the months of February and March 2016 and staying at an apartment. We are avid readers and since it is impossible to take books with us is it possible to become a member of your library. Also are the books in English? I appreciate your help in this matter

See if the library has a website so you can ask and know for sure. I recall a few books Iin English. Mind you, this isn't the New York City library! It's a tiny place and not too well stocked.
