About
The Yoda Guy Movie Exhibit, nestled amongst Front Street's duty free jewelry stores, is possibly the most surprising enterprise in the Caribbean. Who would expect to find Darth Vader, Pinhead from HELLRAISER and Riddley Scott's ALIEN in St Maarten? But this unprecedented showcase has that and a whole lot more. There are displays that span six decades of movie making, relics from THE TERMINATOR, MEN IN BLACK and even THE MALTISE FALCAN. There's also an incredible collection of lifecasts, the actual faces of Hollywood stars, From Bogart & Brando, though Sean Connery & Jack Nicholson to Michael Jackson, Johnny Depp & Angelina Jolle. The collection is extended to include famous historical figures too… the actual faces of Abraham Lincoln, (cast 3 months before his assassination), Benjamin Franklin and George Washington, (cast in. 1778 and 1783 respectively by french sculptor Jean Antoine Houden), and death masks of both Oliver Cromwell, (1658) and Vladimir Lenin (1924). The Exhibit is the brainchild of Hollywood creature effects wizard Nick Maley, known as "that Yoda Guy" for his contribution to the creation of Yoda for the STAR WARS sagas. If you don't know who Nick is, just google his name. He made over 50 movies, including SUPERMAN, HIGHLANDER, KRULL & LIFEFORCE, worked with Hollywood legends like Sean Connery, Sir Anthony Hopkins and Harrison Ford, (you will see them all in the exhibit), was featured in CINEMAX and HBO specials, won a place in THE GUINNESS BOOK OF WORLD RECORDS and was nominated for an EMMY. Nick shares his professional perspective on the making of famous movies via DVD and, if you are lucky enough to find him there, he will dedicate purchases from the Yoda Guy Shop and do photos with customers. The Shop sells signed movie memorabilia, posters, antique STAR WARS comics, behind the scene photos and storyboards… unique autographed slices of STAR WARS history that become a legacy to pass on through the family. There's also Nick's celebrated Caribbean artwork, (exhibited in galleries in 18 countries and toured the world with UNESCO. Nick and his wife Gloria have created the Yoda Guy Movie Museum Foundation, a not for profit group to oversee the Exhibit's development. Don't miss this once in a lifetime opportunity to support the museum and visit a STAR WARS celebrity. It is recommended on all major cruise lines as a MUST SEE for art and movie fans.

A very neat experience. We got to meet Nick Maley and learn about his special effects career and his work with Yoda. This is a must visit for a Star Wars fan. Great little museum with numerous artifacts and items for sale. Who woulda thought to find this in St. Maarten!

Nick Maley and his wife were extremely welcoming and fun to talk with. The exhibit was great and unique. They had a shop with one of a kind memorabilia. Would highly recommend stopping by this exhibit and chatting with Nick and taking a look around

Nick and his wife are the best. They welcome you right away and makes you feel so comfortable. The museum is so worth seeing and the detail Nick put into it is amazing. He showcases all the work from the movies he worked on and even more ! So glad I went here and for any Star Wars fans it is extraordinary ! Thank you so much for an awesome experience

It was an interesting, unique and very educational experience, really digging into the depths of movie making and behind the scenes of movie making - and more than just Star Wars. It was pretty quiet when I went, so I got to have a conversation with Mr. Maley, which was super special and cool. He was super humble, friendly & you could see that he cared about his collection and the work he had done. I bought a piece of art from him, but he also has original script pages and storyboards from Star Wars and other movies for sale.

The exhibit is excellent with replica movie pieces and scripts. When we went Nick was there and was super friendly and easily to talk to. I didn’t do the museum tour but I hear it was excellent.

What a great find!! Not sure how I heard about the exhibit but my wife is a big Star Wars fan and LOVES Yoda & Grogu so it was a no-brainer we'd visit while in port during our cruise. So many great items on display! I figured we'd spend 30-45 minutes based on what I'd seen but I think we ended up closer to 90 minutes taking it all in. And to meet & chat with Nick was awesome!!

I work in the Celebrity Cruise and i was stunned to find out about the Yoda Guy. One of the best times I have had. I felt like a kid in a candy store, also Mr. & Mrs. Maley are the nicest people you could meet. So down to earth and so sweet just like baby Yoda. :) If you are ever in St. Maarten forget about everything else just make sure you visit the Yoda Guy.

First, let me start off by saying that I am a Star Wars Nerd. My day did not go as planned because we had 2 excursions canceled on us but The Force works in mysterious ways. I was talking with a couple at the bar on the Carnival Magic and they mentioned what they had planned for the day. My ears perked up because in all my many visits to the island of St. Maarten, I was unaware of the hidden Kyber Crystal that was just a $7.00 water taxi ride away. The short walk down to the building that looked like it belongs in Mos Eisley and you know you have arrived. Go up the stairs to the second floor entrance. The space is small but full eye-catching sights at the Museum entrance/Gift Shop Area. There he was the man, the myth, the legend Mr. Nick Maley taking pictures and signing autographs. I paid his lovely wife and began my journey through the Museum. Let me just say I learned a great deal more taking this tour. When it was over I got my chance to speak with him and I told him I was a Darth Vader fan and he shared a story with me about Mr. Prowse. I did see a book that he had on display, that I am going to search for. We then took some pictures thanks to my brother-in-law Phil and that was that. The next time I visit, I will be prepared to make a purchase for my collection.

My two year old daughter and I went to the Yoda Guy Movie Exhibit Tour when we were in Phillipsburg. With her, I wasn't able to read everything about the exhibits and watch all the videos Nick had, however, we still had a good time looking at all the exhibits. My daughter even recognized Baby Yoda and some other characters from her Goodnight Darth Vader book.

Very nice and friendly owners and definitely worth a peak if you are in Phillipsburg. It can be a 20 minute walkthrough of a two hour excursion depending on your level of interest.
