A short climb to the ruins of old Fort Louis, overlooking Marigot Bay. Totally worth the effort for the breathtaking view, and to get a feel for the history of the island. No admission fee, and freedom to wander where you like, means you can spend as much time as you want exploring! We even saw a variety of lizards... More

This Fort overlooks Marigot Bay. It's a bit of a walk up a steep hill to get there but worth it. Amazing views of Marigot Bay.

This was a nice little hike, not too steep and the view is worth the effort. You can complete this is about 30 minutes if you are in OK shape.

Great views, easy access. There's not a lot of interpretation or history presented, but if you're in town it's worth the short hike up the hill.

Like most forts from this era, it is something of a ruin. There were some information boards to read that were pretty interesting, and the views were amazing. I spent about an hour up there wandering around. I parked in the market area of town and walked up alone. I did not get accosted nor my car broken in to,... More

This was a nice piece of history. We climbed all the way to the top and got great views of the french side. It was great to give my kids a piece of history going back 300 years. Enjoyed it very much

Take your time and meander up the hill to Fort Louis. While there is not a lot to the fort, there are a few signs to give you a bit of history. The views are excellent, and provide for some very pretty shots, particularly if you have a panorama option on your camera. Wear sturdy footwear as some of the... More

Short hike uphill from town center. Fabulous view of city and the shoreline. Some decent signage with historical information about the Fort.

We hiked up the short hill and stairs to access the remnants of this historic fort and were rewarded with great views of the entire bay and Marigot area. Be sure to read the informative plaques on the way for some interesting history, such as why the British decided to attack Marigot and whether they got what they came for.... More
