Worth a visit and a wander seeing the local / French culture. Had a relaxing feel to it, a bit like the Florida Keys.

The security in the parking lot led us to believe the historical site was secure, but up top we discovered two friendly teenagers in addition to plenty of evidence that this site attracts other young couples... great to learn about the history of the island...More
If you are in Marigot you get a very different view from the fort. Definitely worth the walk up the hill.
Great views and worth the hike up the hill to see all of the beautiful yachts in the harbor below. The walk up the path just across from the taxi stand near the ferry terminal in Marigot. Be careful not to fall for the young...More
On a hot day walking up the hill makes you sweat. But there is good reason: scenery over Marigot is very nice! All the boats, sea and Anguilla in the distance. We did it on the first day and it helped to understand walking routes,...More
10 minute walk from Marigot harbour offers a commanding view of Marigot and surrounding area. Fort walls are intact, a few cannon placements as well as pinnacle with French flag but little else within the walls. Still a must do if you are in Marigot....More
The highest most point overlooking Marigot Bay. The fort is a ruin but the view is outstanding and is a great place to view the sunset too. Be warned though - its a good walk up there although steps are provided with handrails. Recommended.
200 stairs but you are rewarded with a fantastic view. The other islands and the beautiful waters make for spectacular photos.
We did a self tour of Fort Louis while visiting St Maarten and enjoyed the history as well as the stunning view. The brief climb is well with the experience!
