The walk up to the fort was not as long as we had anticipated, very much an activity that most people could do from in town. Once you are up at the Fort you are able to see incredible views in every direction, both seaside...More

Worth the climb and litter-dodging on the path out of town. We enjoyed the fort itself and the little bit of history on the signs around the site. Then we sat and watched the view until lunch time.

When you are in Marigot, don't miss walking up to the fortress. You can spot it easily when you are in town and it is only a short walk uphill which will be rewarded with spectacular views.

A short climb to the ruins of old Fort Louis, overlooking Marigot Bay. Totally worth the effort for the breathtaking view, and to get a feel for the history of the island. No admission fee, and freedom to wander where you like, means you can...More

This Fort overlooks Marigot Bay. It's a bit of a walk up a steep hill to get there but worth it. Amazing views of Marigot Bay.

This was a nice little hike, not too steep and the view is worth the effort. You can complete this is about 30 minutes if you are in OK shape.

Great views, easy access. There's not a lot of interpretation or history presented, but if you're in town it's worth the short hike up the hill.

Like most forts from this era, it is something of a ruin. There were some information boards to read that were pretty interesting, and the views were amazing. I spent about an hour up there wandering around. I parked in the market area of town...More

This was a nice piece of history. We climbed all the way to the top and got great views of the french side. It was great to give my kids a piece of history going back 300 years. Enjoyed it very much

Take your time and meander up the hill to Fort Louis. While there is not a lot to the fort, there are a few signs to give you a bit of history. The views are excellent, and provide for some very pretty shots, particularly if...More
