We were greeted and promptly seated in ours beach chairs with a cold beverage. The sand was amazing and the water crystal clear. We planned to stay for lunch but ended up having dinner as well since the food was so delicious. Great beach to walk along and easy for swimming. No sunset - only downside.Visited December 2023Travelled with friendsWritten December 5, 2023
- Reuben A4 contributionsAwesome Place, but...Great beach. Great places to stay along the boulevard. Awesome restaurants. Neighborhood is not great though. Make sure you don't leave any valuables in your car, ESPECIALLY in Grand Case.Visited January 2023Travelled with familyWritten December 24, 2023
- Marc MSarasota, Florida2 contributionsGood time in Grand CaseJust got back yesterday from St. Martin. We stayed a week in Grand Case. $60 taxi from airport for 4 with each a carryon and backpack. Had a great time. Obviously the wind was strong a few days, but all in all very happy we stayed there. (I recommend a sand anchor to hook up your floatie. We've taken taken that to Aruba, Caymans, Turks and now St. Martin). We stayed at Residence Calypso in between the Rainbow Cafe and Frenchy's. Christofe was just a text away from anything we needed. Had top floor, amazing view. By staying were we did, included free breakfast at Frenchy's as well as use of the lounge chairs all day. Small market across the road to stock up on drinks for beach. I was surprise at how inexpensive drinks were at store. Although we brought cups and filled them with rum and pina, we also ordered from Frenchy's. Next to market are the best chocolate croissants and french bread. Coffee two doors down. Between breakfast and make our own lunches made the expensive dinners bearable. If you get a late lunch at Lolo's, I'd only need a small meal at night. We rented a car from Golfe car rental by Grand Case airport. $60 per day and well worth it. Wish we would have rented another day to explore island. Went to orient beach (rough seas and red tide), Anse Marcel, which is a very pretty beach (12 minute drive) and Marigot. You can find parking close in Anse Marcel but takes a little investigative driving. Also did the Boomerang boat tour out of Simpson which is recommended. Only downside to where we were staying is some nights, not all, the music can be loud (I brought ear plugs). Most nights were no problem, but one Friday night the music was thumping until 2am. If I went back would definitely stay in same place.Visited July 2024Travelled with familyWritten July 4, 2024

We visited Grand Case for lunch and found that has been almost totally devastated. The only beach front restaurant still active is LOLO's which is a barbeque place on the water. It's good for what it is, but none of the good French or Italian restaurants had come back. Very sad.

We had a lovely oceanfront room with a balcony. The bed was very hard, but when we let them know, they put a mattress topper on the next day. The people at the front desk were always lovely and willing to help (don't forget to tip them!)
Housekeeping was wonderful and the room was well cleaned (remember to tip!)
The hotel is a very easy and convenient walk to the greatest restaurants in GC.
The restaurant attached to the hotel was good for breakfast (we never ate lunch or dinner there). The beach is small, but calm and clean - no seaweed.
Lovely stay.

My daughter and I had the pleasure of staying at Grand Case Beach Club. Our stay was wonderful. The room is exactly as advertised, the ocean crystal clear, the food at the hotel restaurant delicious and the staff lovely. The hotel is a quick walk into the restaurant area of Grand Case. The "restaurant row" was our favorite of any vacation spot we have had the pleasure to visit. We can not wait until we can return. This is a very special place.

Beautiful beach with calm waters! Rented chairs and lunched at Rainbow Cafe (highly recommended) - loved it so much we went back a second time during our one-week trip. Second time, we walked to southern tip and snorkeled off beach all the way out to the rocky tip - great snorkeling! Rays, eels, coral, fish, lobster, and more! (Heard great things also about northern tip of bay but it is really hard to access unless you have a boat)

This beautiful beach is our favorite on St. Martin. The fine restaurants, bars, and boutiques that once lined it before the storm are slowly coming back, It is not as wild as Orient but has all the benefits one can ask for. The water is beautiful and the bay is very picturesque.

Not anymore — this was I’m sure a beautiful place. Unfortunately since hurricane Irma over 5 years ago this place has not recovered. There is no beach — only a few feet wide - no access to it either really — building are right on the water edge. There is some shops we wandered through but sad to say this is just a working class neighborhood with some shops and restaurants. Open air grill restaurants compete for you business begging you to come in there space. We had a nice view of the beautiful water and boats in the harbor - but if you want a beach to sit and relax on this is not it.

We got beach chairs at Tropic Beach Bar and sat out most of the afternoon until after sunset. We enjoyed the water. No seaweed. Felt good temperature wise. Water was clearer than the Dutch side. Sand was also pretty powdery no debris.

This beach is short and crowded with chairs and umbrellas, but offers a lively atmosphere for those who enjoy busy beaches. Water sports are available. It took us a while to figure out that we had to go through one of the hotels to access the beach since there's no public access from Grand Case public parking lots (despite signs saying 'beach parking'). The shops all along the street were underwhelming and overpriced. We did have a pleasant experience at Lolo's with drinks, snacks, and sailboat watching.

I don't understand why this beach is so low in the ranking, it was the one we liked the most on the entire island. It is practically a natural pool of turquoise water, you can snorkel since very close to the shore you can see fish, starfish and crabs. There are not many options to rent lounge chairs and umbrellas, so I recommend going with your own things, since it is super extensive and there is plenty of space, plus it is super quiet. Planes can be seen landing very close at St. Martin Airport.

Stayed here with our one year old and Grand Case Beach is certainly one of the best beaches on Sint Maarten if you're travelling with toddlers. Crsytal clear and calm waters, only light waves. Our one year old loved it!

Vorrei sapere la distanza tra questa spiaggia e il terminal crociere
Written October 31, 2019
E' quasi dall altra parte dell isola.
Traffico permettendo, che in alcune fasce orarie è davvero intenso, in auto bisogna considerare 30/40 minuti

Hi, can you get there easily from the cruise ship port? If so what’s the easiest way to get there on your own without booking a ship excursion ?
Written October 23, 2019
Use a taxi or rent a car if you would like to see the island
Written October 28, 2019
Were there enough taxis at Grand Case Beach during the day to take one back over to the cruise port? We'll be in St. Martin in a few weeks on a cruise. We saw the Dutch side last time we were in port so we want to head off on our own to the French side. Thanks for your help!

Hi
Was wondering how much chair & umbrella rental was on Grand Case beach?
Thanks
Written April 11, 2019
We stay at Le Petit Hotel so our chairs/umbrella are complimentary but if you eat at Rainbow Cafe they are free as well. Rainbow is a great place because the food and drinks are good, the beach is really nice and the opportunity to people watch is top notch.

How is the condition in the island after hurricane
Like roads and restaurants is it easy to drive
Which part of the island is more effected by hurricane.
Written December 24, 2018
The Dutch side is much better than the French side. You can drive around easily on either. There is still much debris everywhere, even boats on the side of the road. Check to see if your restaurant is open before going out to dinner, as many websites are not updated.

Is this a private or public beach? And is snorkeling good here ?
Written July 25, 2017
The beach is public. The water is clear and most areas are clear of rocks. The best snorkeling is at the ends of the bay.

Hello how far is this Beach from the cruise port and what is the price of a taxi?
Written July 25, 2017
It depends on the time of day as we went at 8 AM and it took us 25 min
Cost I think was about $35
Written July 25, 2017
Hi, What part of the French side is a must see Marigot or Grand Case if you only have limited time ? Thanks, Chris
Written May 28, 2017
If you are looking for a nice relaxing day,
Grand Case has good restaurants and
small boutique shops for shopping and a beautiful beach for swimming and sunbathing.
Marigot has an open marketplace and many restaurants and shopping. No swimming or beach. It is by the harbor with many yachts and boats for traveling to other islands for the day.
Two very different experiences.
