A lovely beach sweeping for half a mile, which provides a great place to swim, snorkel, sunbathe or just relax and watch the pelicans dive for fish.

Read about this place from other reviewers and it was as described: quiet, not touristy, and very few people! This place was super relaxing. Took a taxi from the cruise port (pay in cash) and rented two chairs from a shack at the beach. Hardly anyone there when we arrived and by the afternoon, there were still not more than 30 people there. Folks are super friendly and we enjoyed an afternoon of tranquility!

Absolutely lovely beach with turquoise blue waters, long stretches of sand, ideal for . Perfect to spend an afternoon or a longer stay. The crowds are pretty sparse so its all the more reason to stay longer at the beach. The nearby lake had some flamingos which was an added attraction

This was an amazing beach day, far from the maddening crowds at other beaches during a cruise stop. Great waves, too!

The only thing that could ruin this beach is overpopulation. Honestly, what made it great was that it felt like a private experience at a picturesque place. Is this paradise?

There was a clean restroom and a place to rent boogie and surf boards as well as get surfing lessons. Additionally, we had a tasty lunch there. WiFi, too for debit card and Venmo payments.

I'm merely leaving this review because I depend on reviews when making travel choices, but trust me: I do not want a bunch of people flooding Josiah's Bay. Other than a hurricane, it's the only thing that will ruin it. Yes, support the businesses there (snack and surf shop) and also... preserve paradise!

We always visit off season, but you can surf at Josiah's. There is a little surf school even off-season with gentle waves for young learners. There is a restaurant and bar that was there before Irma and from what I am seeing it is back in action. Not too many people either, with nice pinkish sand. One of our favorite beaches in Tortola. Tourists don't venture out over here, unless its for surfing either!

Rough surf. Great for boarders, surfers but a little too rough to swim in. Lovely, long, crescent beach. Limited to no shade. Very limited parking. There is a small surf school that operates off the beach.

Super secluded. Only 2 other couples were there that day. Very laid back ! Nice that the other couple decided to join in on the naked fun!

Taxi ride was expensive $26 each way from the port.

We were on an NCL ESCAPE cruise, and instead of signing up for one of their offered excursions, we opted for an adventure. A local recommended Josiah's Bay because it's off the beaten path and beautiful. When we arrived the total people on the beach was 10! They have bathroom facilities, food and surf boards, boogie boards and snorkel gear for rent. There are rip tides and some intense waves so you need to be mindful. Our 5 year old loved it and so did we!

I am trying to overcome my selfishness and continue to write this review - I don't want to ruin this beach's lovely chill vibe. Very beautiful white sand beach with a beach break and a few local turtles to share the waves with. Steve's surf rental and school live right on the beach, so walk up and get set up for some ocean play, if the mood and the conditions allow. After, be sure to grab a cold Carib from the snack shack right next door. You can't miss either - they are the only two structures on the whole beach. Note, no public washroom facilities and limited shade, which is why t is so blessedly quiet, I think. I loved this beach.

We had not been to Josiah's before Irma, but could see that there was much more to offer then. The beach is stunning and has powdery white sand. It is surfing destination and, as such has powerful waves. We had our four year old with us and it was too much for her to be able to swim and play in the surf. The restaurant that was at Josiah's was destroyed by the storm, so there are no bathrooms or places to eat and drink here. There is a man selling surfing lessons and renting surfboards on the beach and there are some lean-to's on the beach for shade.

We found Josiah's Bay sort of by accident. We had a relatively short stay with a Norwegian cruise. We asked I cab driver where we could go to find the biggest waves, and he said Josiah's Bay. It was one of the most beautiful places we have ever been in our lives! We got extremely lucky, that we also found Naomi's Secret Bar! Conch Fritters, Carib beer (along w/ others), and a liquor bar where you make your own drinks, except the sour sap daiquiri that Naomi makes herself! Keep your tab on a piece of paper and pay at the end! This is a can't miss place if you have a few hours on Tortola! Please tell Naomi we didn't forget!
