Nice hike, pretty view

I'll admit I questioned my husband's sanity as we drove the rental car up this steep incline and parked in front of a closed souvenir shop on a Sunday. The path did not look too... read more

Go for the hike and the beautiful views -- stay for the banana smoothie and conversation with Jim. We learned more about the island, it's culture and history while sipping our smoothies talking with Jim than we did from any book or museum. Jim is truly and treasure, and should be THE Official Ambassador for tourists to BVI.

We drove here, didn't take long to get there. We walked up a very big hill to start and then is levells off a bit. Very humid so make sure you take a bottle of water. Walk can take a few hours and there are places to sit down. If you get as far as the big fig tree, turn... More

If you are looking for a change of pace from the traditional sailing, beaching, snorkeling, etc., that Tortola has to offer, Sage Mountain may be for you. There is no fee to enter. We rented a vehicle and there are some steep inclines on the way up and not many road signs assist in finding Sage Mountain. Many of the... More

Nice, easy hike with gorgeous views and lots of butterflies. I know the area well, so I didn't have trouble finding it, as others have mentioned. Come with bug spray on to avoid having the experience ruined by mosquitoes. Recently, however, Tortola has had much few mosquitoes than usual.

Took the hill on using the left trail came down the O'Neal trail. Both were steep but going up seemed steeper ...like all the hills in Tortola. Was early morning and we were on the mountain all by ourselves. We do 6 miles a day at home so it was very doable, but if you are not as fit as... More

Sage Mt. (like many other sites on Tortola) was hard to find. We could see the mountain, but finding the road to get to where we could hike was a challenge we overcame. There is a parking area with viewing decks to allow amazing views of both sides of the island. We hiked some of the trails that were reasonably... More

The hike was cool and comfortable with great views not too strenuous but slippery when wet! Enjoyed talking with Jim, his banana smoothies and a cute little gift shop

I'll admit I questioned my husband's sanity as we drove the rental car up this steep incline and parked in front of a closed souvenir shop on a Sunday. The path did not look too promising and I worried about mosquitos carrying us away. However, once we started the hike, the breeze was incredible, not a bug in site and... More

This trip would've been better had my husband and daughter not fallen twice each; the first time, they brushed it off, the second time they were both a bit worse off. We got turned around a few times and went up the wrong way and down the wrong way. Jim was very helpful with the map, but we just lost... More
