I left a detailed review under The Baths but this was an incredible day in port that we easily navigated on our own from Tortola. The water, beaches and rocks made for a stunning backdrop. I highly recommend wearing water shoes of some type due to the rocky paths and having to navigate some steep stairs and using a rope chain on some rocks. This stop was the highlight of our port days!

Devil's Bay is accessible via a short hiking trail from the Baths, but is much less crowded than the Baths. There is very good snorkeling on the protected side of the bay. While the main part of the Baths is definitely worth visiting, this is a great location to hang out and enjoy a beautiful beach with few people around. There are no beach amenities here, like there is at the Baths.

We did a trip to Devils Bay and The Baths from our cruise ship. It was so beautiful. We walked through the park to the baths where you can swim/walk through the boulders in crystal clear waters. I'd highly recommend taking a waterproof camera. We had a good amount of time here before then heading off to Devils Bay which was a gorgeous beach where you can get refreshments. A wonderful trip.

My wife and I went here for the day as part of our shore excursion from our Celebrity cruise. We took a boat with 60+ other people to the island. We had to swim to the beach the beach, about 100 yards, no hard. From there we walked with the group and explored to the island and the rock formations. These are worth seeing. We ended up on the other side of the island on another beach. One of the guides asked us if we wanted him to take us to the top of the one of the rocks. We said yes and I was so glad that we did. The views are amazing. At the end of the tour, we had to swim about 300 yards of open water back to the boat. There were over 15 boats off shore, so I was not sure which boat to swim to, but I guessed correctly. The swim can be a challange for weak swimmers.

This is the bay that I liked the best. The snorkelling is fabulous. We were there twice; the first time the water was calm and the water was crystal clear to the bottom. The second time we were there, it was wavy and the snorkelling wasn't very good. The water drops off nicely to a depth of 20' (+-).

We visited Devil's Bay as part of a cruise excursion. Due to rip tides, the guides said we were not allowed to swim the beach waters on Devil's Bay. Therefore, we just did a look around on beach and photos then walked back up the trail a bit to enter The Baths (boulders) which we loved and took our time. It is a little challenging (narrow parts, little ladders, had to bend over under a boulder a bit but not too bad) but not too difficult (and I'm claustrophobic) but did it. I thought about those who took excursions which would require swimming from a boat to The Baths (boulder area) and how if there are rip tides, that was probably not doable, so we got lucky as we walked the trail to Devil's Bay first, then to the Baths boulders which exits to a small beach with picnic tables, two clothing trinkets vendors, one small drink stand, rustic bathroom. When you walk back up to the bus drop off areas via a trail, there is a small pool on top with shops, but we didn't have time to do that. Our trip was self-guided, and the guides explained the shop area more than how to start the trail and how it splits one way to the beach and one way to the baths walk thru boulders. I'm glad we went to the beach first and then took our time exploring The Baths. Take your time in The Baths, it is fun and really neat.

We travelled to the area by van as we were anchored elsewhere on the island. The walk down to Devil's Bay and the Baths was an easy five minute stroll. It was lovely to swim in Devli's Bay. It is a sheltered area so no rough water to contend with. Did not snorkel here, not did anyone who did mention any sea life to admire. The Baths area is right beside it. WOW! A masterpiece by Mother Nature. Huge boulders that you can wander over, around and under. We feel this is a must see and experience island in the Caribbean.

It was an adventure. The walk to The Baths by way of Devil's Bay was longer than expected, but downhill. The Baths were a maze in and out of caves, coves, open water, stairs, climbs, and crawls. A little more exertion than expected but worthwhile. What goes down, must go up....the walk out of The Baths was just as long, uphill. But at the top of the trail was a pub/restaurant, pool, and beautiful views. Anyone with mobility issues should not attempt The Baths.

right in same area as the baths is this picturesque national park. The most beautiful water and sandy bottom lagoon just amazing. Plan your visit when a cruise ship is not in area as it gets overrun with cruise tourist.

It is a beautiful beach, with stunning turquoise water with a back drop of piled high boulders. It is right beside the more famous Baths.
You can climb thru the maze of boulders, rope pulls & little wooden stair cases to get to it from the Baths. Which is sounding difficult, but actually it isn't bad. You just have to be able to bend, as some spots are a tight, low fit.
Or you can snorkel/swim over. Or arrive by boat. Or starting at the entrance at the top, take the Devils Bay path (to the left - its labeled). Its an easy path. Off of that same path is another path to Stoney Bay Beach, its worth the extra few minutes to check it out as well. Stoney Bay is rough & rocky, so not good for swimming, but a pretty view.
We snorkeled at Devils Bay a few times, saw some pretty fish, but others about an hour before us saw sea turtles. People on boating day trips frequent this beach, so you have to watch for them when you are in the water.
Like most of Virgin Gorda, the beach has roaming chickens/roosters, I got photos of a rooster checking out our bag. Hey better then a stranger doing it! :)
It was too rough to go in on our last day, it can get big swells, so take care.
For food there is a small burger place by the Baths boulders. Or back up the top, at the entrance is Top of the Baths, good food, more variety (lunches approx $12, dinners pricier) or beside that is Mad Dogs, simpler ($8) sandwich kinda place. I've reviewed them as well.
Lockers and bathrooms are on The Baths side. Water shoes are helpful. Only some short bush like trees, so not too much shade. If you have access to an umbrella, it would be helpful. No beach chairs available.

Gibt es einen Weg zum Strand auch ohne durch die Felsen zu gehe? Unser Sohn ist 1 jahr alt. Können wir ihn in der Ruckentrage da mit durch tragen oder ist es zu gefährlich?

Looking to book a relaxing romantic but still adventurous vacation. I keep coming back to Devil's bay but I just want to make sure there are adventures there not just the relaxing... although I am going to relax!

To get to Devil's Bay you have to go thru the Baths. One path requires some climbing and tight spaces to pass through. Devil's Bay is a beach area with crystal clear water. Absolutely beautiful!

Hello, we will be traveling on the Disney Fantasy and wanted to know if anyone has done this excursion and do you need to be a strong swimmer for this excursion to the Baths? We have a 6 year old who swims ok but if there is a strong current would be concerned?? Do they have life jackets available if needed? Thanks so much!!!!

My husband and I visited the Baths in early October. Fyi, the route through the Baths is not for someone with mobility issues. Some minor climbing is required, and there are some tight spaces, however the trek is absolutely worthwhile! Devil's Bay is AMAZING! There was not a strong current while we were there. The water is crystal clear, and relatively shallow. There was a rope sectioning off the deeper water. If your 6 yr old can swim, I truly believe this is a safe activity. Our guide did keep an eye on everyone. I do recommend bringing some bottle water with you if possible. You'll be thankful! Not sure about the life jackets, but we took a boat to the Baths, and life jackets are mandatory on the boats.

we will be arriving on a cruise ship and have booked the "Baths" excursion on the cruise ship..... my Husband HATES CROWDS.... my gut is telling me to go to Devils bay instead.... does anyone have any suggestions? should we take a taxi to devils bay instead? should we grab some lunch at Road town and head to devils bay? we do not mind hiking a bit also. thanks!

If we arrive on a cruise ship in Road Town, Tortola, can we get an Island tour and a boat trip to take us to Devils Bay on Virgin Gorda back to the cruise ship? If so what company would anyone recommend?
