About
If you're looking for a tranquil beach escape, visit Rum Point on Grand Cayman. The calm and shallow turquoise waters and the long stretch of sandy beach make it perfect for swimming, sunbathing, and snorkeling—try to spot the reef fishes, stingrays, and turtles in the water. There are also beach volleyball courts for some fun with the crew. In the evening, enjoy the stunning sunset views from the dock or rent a kayak and witness the neon glow of the Bioluminescent Bay. You can stop by on a sailing tour of Grand Cayman or book a villa near the beach for the ultimate experience. – Tripadvisor

    Great Snorkeling
Rum Point is a great place to snorkel and sit on the beach. Be aware that the main restaurant is closed for renovation and new construction. Very noisy and food service is brought in via a food truck. Bar is open and drinks are good. Would not recommend spending the whole day there. Perhaps spend a few hours snorkeling there and then go to Starfish Point right around the bend.

    Rum Point rebuilding…
This place has been my “namaste getaway” for some time. Sadly, the last hurricane hit Rum Point hard. The owners are rebuilding, and it’s going to look amazing when it’s finished. Unfortunately, the fish have taken a bit of a siesta, too, as the hurrricane washed a lot away and much of the coral is dead. There wasn’t much to see in the water last month. Fingers crossed that 2024 brings this place back to life. ❤️🤞

    Great destination
It’s a drive from seven mile beach but if you plan on going to the caves which is highly recommended it is only 15 minutes. There is a nice restaurant near Rum point. My kids are 19, 16 & 15 and they enjoyed themselves.

    It’s a beach and a bar
If you don’t have access to a beach, Rum Point is a good place to go and hang out. Often there’s music playing. Beach is free access but bring everything. The part of the beach with amenities will cost you. Nice bar/restaurant there although we only tried the bar. Drinks aren’t cheap, but are full sized and strong. Great place to view the sunset

    Great beachfront experience
One of a kind oceanfront beach experience. Completely renovated beach bar with lots of tables, lounging areas, chaise lounges. Great frozen drinks and a diverse menu. (Please no outside food or beverages.) calm waters make snorkeling easy. Nice pier, cool breezed and palms. Had to pull myself away at day’s end. Highly recommend it.

Nice to have chairs available, not great snorkeling. Good for kids.
We drove to the Rum Point Club on a low cruise day. We were able to use deck chairs and found some shade. We obeyed their posted notice to not bring in food and coolers... But others did not. The swimming area was nice, especially for kids. I snorkeled from the shore but there was a lot of grass and not many fish to see. We were expecting to have to pay rental on the chairs, but we did not. We also figured there would be cocktail waiters hounding us to purchase drinks and food, but that was not the case. There are food and drinks available but we weren't there at a meal time, so we didn't order. Nice restrooms and showers. Water sports available for rent. There's a dive shop and a pier. There is also an adjacent public beach but it wasn't very tidy and was completely shaded, so we opted to visit the club. We stayed a couple hours and then drove on down to Starfish Point, which we enjoyed more... But no chairs.

Sad that it’s no longer a charming and peaceful oasis
Sadly it’s a victim of its own success. We used to come here on the day before our flight home to relax and wish we were staying longer. Now it is so crowded, over developed, and has lost its charm. We stopped by after the cave tour since we were so close. People, crowds, noise everywhere, and no available chairs or spots to lounge. It was not what we remember, and it is no longer what made it so great. We are sorry for anyone who never got to visit it when it was charming.

It definitely lost his charm, my mudslide was tasteless like crushed ice, when I pointed out to the bar lady she replied to me ; "that's the way we do it here" !! They used to be famous for their mudslides..

We were here on Sunday and back again later in the week. Nice small beach. The dock allows you to have a nice view, and although we didn't witness the gorgeous sunset, it's not to be missed

BEWARE----our friends charged a meal and drink and their credit card was compromised. It came up several days later with charges from California. So their information was stolen. We are here for several months not the typical "week long" tourist. Not only has the newly designed Rum Point lost all its charm it seems it is now also dishonest.

The Place is amazing. The colors of the ocean inside the lagoon are gorgeous. We enjoyed a dinner at the Rum Point restaurant and took a swimm in the turquoise water

Unfortunately our visit last summer was disappointing. There was a lot of construction for what looks like a fantastic outdoor dining area but the most disappointing part was the dirty water. when i say dirty, literally could not see 1 ft in front of you. So sad as we have sone very fond memories of what it used to be like.

Not the same.. They've updated the facilities, which are nicer, but the food is terrible compared to what it was. Lots of fav's gone from the menu, and the 'nice' restaurant is almost the same as the day bar food. Average food. Won't be going again, sadly.
