We would recommend this to families or individuals. We will probably skip it next time we go back to try another adventure but it would be my number 1 recommendation for anyone who has never been to grand cayman
A bus picked us up from our hotel, on time. The boat ride out to the stingrays was pleasant. Once there, you have to jump down in the water. It was maybe waist deep. There are plenty of large stingrays around. The tour guides talk...More
Our children were scared to get in the open water with the stingrays and we’re clinging onto us for dear life! With that said, the crystal clear water, soft white sand, and the calmness of the ocean was absolutely amazing. Our tour leader put a...More
This is our 3 rd time to visit sting ray city on the Cayman Explorer. We were on a Disney Magic cruise the end of Dec 2018 and our port adventure to Sting Ray City was excellent. The water conditions were warm but a little...More
We went with George's Watersports on the 5 Stop Eco Tour (Couldn't suggest it more, see my review on that separately). We took our tour on a day there was only a couple of cruise ships and our tour got there before the cruise ships....More
Loved everything about this adventure. Very beautiful island. The boat ride to the stingrays was so much fun. Our captain was very entertaining. The beaches were absolutely gorgeous. There were beautiful colorful tropical fish at our beach in the shallow water where we walked. I...More

I’m not sure if your question. If your asking how you get from the port to your excursion, we were on MSC and they coordinate it. We met in the auditorium and they take you by group to your transit to Stingray City.

ONLY by boat. It is far from shore, just a shallow part of the ocean right before the reef and open ocean. You will need to do it with a tour. Check for highly rated companies on TripAdvisor. There are many. Red Sail does breakfast with stingrays so you beat all the crowds (7:30-11 AM) and go on a really nice huge catamaran. I would do that as it can get extremely crowded during the day, I mean extremely. But cheaper trips are available with other providers. Good luck. Just watch out as my 10 year old got bitten on his thigh by stingray a week ago while we were just standing there, totally unprovoked. Huge bite and suction bruise. 5 inches wide. Watch out for your little ones. Check out my reviews for Cayman.

This is a natural sandbar where all stingrays and fish come and go as they please. It was noticed years ago that the sting rays were collecting where the fishermen were cleaning their fish. Now it has become an attraction - there is a limit of 8oz of squid per boat that they are allowed to feed the stingray so they don't get entirely dependent on being hand fed. They come up to you, swim against you and allow you to hold/touch them. Captain George's crew was very careful about taking care of their environment. I hope this helps!
