Thanks to Marlene for a great guided nighttime tour of the Geand cayman Bio Bay! The experience was unique and one I'll never forget! Marlene had a Masters in Biology and here in GC studying abroad from the Netherlands. Her English language is flawless, and knowledge of the area broad. The starlit night kayaking was just simply awesome! The waters... More

I did the tour for the 2nd time & it was even more amazing than the first. You do not need to be an experienced kayaker. I took my Mom who is 65, she's fit but never kayaked before & she had no problem. You will get a bit wet from the waist down, so you'll want to dress accordingly.... More

Thank you for coming again for round two! We do have a lot of repeat residents as well as guests on holiday that come again and again. Even 10 years later I still love it out there every night I get to see it. It's so rare to have a bay year round, so I'm soaking it up in hopes... More

Cayman Kayaks specializes in bioluminescent tours, departing from Rum Point at 7 PM and 9 PM. It's incredible to be out on the water at night with shooting stars, and the bioluminescence is magical. Tours are about one and a half hours. Our guide, who has spent most of his life on the island, was well informed and fun. We... More

We have mixed feelings about this one. The company, Cayman Kayaks, is superb. Friendly, professional, knowledgeable people all of them. They are a very well organized, well run outfit. Kayaking at night under a starry sky was a neat experience. The bioluminescence didn’t live up to expectations, however. The pictures you see on line are misleading. It’s not a bluish... More

I'm sorry that you didn't see much glow when you came on tour. Bioluminescence is a natural occurrence. Concentrations and brightness may appear to differ from year to year / night to night. Cameras can over exaggerate what we see on tour, however, commonly the bioluminescence is a bright as the pictures portray. Perhaps don't give up on this experience... More

We did the tour of the bioluminescent bay with Cayman Kayaks. Our tour left at 9:00 pm. We had a beautiful starry and moonlit night with a gentle warm breeze. Despite the lack of a "bricks and morter" location, they are well organized. The kayaks are the open sea kayak type, for 2 people. You do get a bit wet,... More

Thanks for your positive and accurate review! "bricks and morter" You are correct that we are a company that has no physical structure at Rum Point. Because kayaks are all trailered, we are able to cater to other evens on Island. Cayman Kayaks is not at Rum Point during the Day. You will see Cayman Kayaks at Rum Point to... More

I booked the sunset kayak trip for some friends and I and we loved every minute of it. We had a small problem finding the launch site of the tip but that was totally my fault for reading the confirmation email wrong. A quick call to Cayman Kayaks and they had us on the road to the correct location. The... More

Tom, the owner and guide, created a safe, enjoyable and educational experience. The kayaks are the type you sit on top. They had back rests which were very comfortable. My husband and I were on one kayak and our friends (sisters) were on the other kayak. Another couple were also in the group. We started at the public beach area... More

We did the morning tour, and it was a great experience. Tom, our guide, took us across the bay and into the mangroves, and he did a great job of pointing out wildlife and explaining the surrounding ecosystem. The tour was both fun and educational, and all 7 in our group really enjoyed it. Next time, we're going to do... More

My husband and I went on the Bioluminescent Tour which was recommended to us from a friend. We were a little worried it would get rained out because it had been raining during our stay in Cayman but the rain held off for the night. We met up at Rum Point and we were immediately instructed to only look out... More

Hello Melanie, Thank you for your descriptive review. Many people and even some guides may say it is silly to wear a hat at night, but I think it really helps to block out any ambient lights that are out on the water. A hat helps keep lights out of your eyes, also help you see the bioluminescence when staring... More

Everyone should have this magical experience at least once in their lives. Spending an evening out on the water, paddling along under a clear moonless sky whilst watching the water light up with a glittering glow every time you touched it was fantastic. I could have stayed there all night just scooping up handfuls and then watching it run back,... More

Kayaking in the dark with some guests that have speed but no direction. Seen it many times and it never gets old. Kayaks in general do turn left to right on every stroke so bumper kayaks is fun! And in the dark it is sometimes a surprise for both parties when two collide. Thanks for your review More
