Only whistles when dry apparently. It had been wet when we went but it's beau with lovely accessible walks and a lovely cafe ...we watched surfers ....a carpark up a steep hill and can go no closer and I expect it would be very busy...More

We walked to this beach from Porth Colman along the Coastal Path. A delightful walk to reach this gem of a beach. There’s beautiful views along with seeing a seal too. The cafe is lovely! A great range of teas and coffees and a lovely...More

An early morning visit on a cloudy September day, but worth a visit (despite the £4 car park charge, NT members park free). The last part of the hard surface road down from the car park to the beach is very steep and might be...More

If you want to spend time on the beach and haven't brought sandwiches than you are forced to use the cafe - which because it has a trapped clientele seems to serve mediocre food - although the cakes look tasty. Service was a bit sullen...More

We've stopped by at the café a few times for breakfast or lunch while on bike rides. The food and service are excellent.

Really beautiful clean Sandy beach. The sand squeaks rather than whistles. Large national trust car park up a short hill from beach and cafe on beach. Plenty of room if you walk away from cafe - busy near cafe with large groups claiming their patch...More

We planned to take our dog as we had checked reviews in advance and it seemed dogs were allowed! But having paid to park and walk down to the beach we found dogs were not permitted. Please put a sign in the car park to...More

We went here on a very windy August day. I loved this beach. We had a nice walk along the beach despite the wind. The children enjoyed exploring the beach and surrounding area. I would definitely recommend this beach for everyone. People were surfing also....More

I’m reluctant to tell you how good Porthor is because too many people could spoil it, however, even when the car park is full there is still plenty of room on the beach

Staying in Aberdaron and fancied a short trip to Porthor Beach. The beach was busy with families having fun in the sand and sea with the sun beating down. Had a late snack lunch in the brilliant cafe and sat outside. Run by exceptionally hard...More

Yes it’s a slope down but would be steep coming back although you could drive to nearly bottom by beach and do a three point back up the hill
