Breathtaking views, amazing history

We went here as part of a cruise tour. It was amazing. Yes, there is some walking. Yes, it's worth it. Short video on the history, bathrooms, drink/snack place-all at the top.

The Brimstone Hill Fortress is an amazing example of an old fort in very good condition. It sits on the top of a hill with beautiful views. The road to the fortress is very narrow and winding so buses cannot make it. You must rent a taxi or small van. The cost is about $20 per person and there is... More

if you drive or its a planned trip do it. first the drive up to the fort is a great laugh, tight turns and narrow gateways makes for giggles. the fort isn't for those with limited mobility, ive been to the fort 3 times and seen many at the bottom of the entrance unable to climb the stairs. the fort... Very interesting site to visit and offers excellent views. Even though it was raining when we visited, we still enjoyed walking around.

Very interesting fortress. We were there on a Friday and it was not crowded. Very interesting. Would have liked to have spent more time there.

The Brimstone Hill Fortress is a place you have to visit of you go in a cruise to St Kitts. The place offers a great view of the island.

We visited on a busy day - school buses and cruise ships - but the crowds were managed very well and our enjoyment was not affected. The grounds are well manicured, the structures in excellent condition and the historical displays were informative and fascinating! We also rented an audio guide which really contributed to our understanding of the history of... More

Loved walking around here. Rains opened up which cleared out most of the tourists and allowed us to have the place to ourselves. We could explore at our pace and thought all the exhibits were well done.

This is an excellent way to get a better understanding of the island history. The restoration is excellent. The site does require some uphill walking and stairs. I am really glad we took the time for a visit.

This is one of the best sites in St Kitts. The fort has been excellently repaired and reconstructed. The explanation of the history of the fort and the island is very instructive. This is not a good site for the handicapped or even those not able to negotiate long flights of steps and hills. Otherwise, well worth your time and... More
