The fort is very well maintained with an excellent museum. It overlooks the ocean and has a spectacular view. If you don't have a car, negotiate with a taxi driver to take you there and then wait. It's not inexpensive, but it was the best non-beach activity we did during our vacation.

There isn't a whole lot to do apart from relax in St Kitts, but this place is well worth a visit if you want to learn some history.

There are a lot of drivers offering tours of St. Kitts. After my second visit, eight years after the first, I've come to see that people who I recommended see the fortress were sometimes told that there wasn't time to see it. Demand it. The commentary in the video in the welcome center is often drowned out by the music,... More

Transport needed to visit this fortress unless fit and up for the challenge of a long hill climb. Introductory video prior to wandering around the grounds. Steps up to the display area, but worth the effort, refreshments and rest room facilities available. Gift shop locally made items.

The beauty of the view from this fortress on a clear day is simply spectacular. If you are fortunate to have clear weather when you visit St. Kitts, make this cultural site high on your list of places to go. Even if it's not a nice day, you'll still learn a lot about island culture by a visit here. There... More

This UNESCO World Heritage Site is a must see on a trip to St. Kitts. This English fort is nestled atop Brimstone Hill(in my mind this is a mountain). The drive up up to the fort is spectacular and the view from the top is magnificent. Don't forget to watch the short A/V presentation in the Visitors Centre to give... More

Anyone travelling to St. Kitts should check out Brimstone Fortress. The ride up to the fortress is a little scary as the road is very narrow and there are no guard rails. The jungle surrounds the roadway and it is incredibly beautiful. You have to drive through the original entrance to the fort which is quite narrow but really neat.... More

This Fort is about a 25 minute ride from the airport. It is a tough drive and you may want to consider taking a cab. It sits high on a hill and you have to drive through a series of hairpin turns along a very narrow road. There is no guard rail and for American drivers, you are on the... More

Our group of 19 visited Brimstone Hill Fortress as part of our Grey's Island Excursion's "Grand Tour of St. Kitts." It is not to be missed on your list of things to do in St Kitts. So much history at this sight and the views are spectacular! Spend the time to visit each room and read up on life at... More
