My wife and I walked round this square when briefly stopping off in the area. It's bordered by the Roman Catholic Cathedral and a number of other interesting buildings and is a nice place to stop to chill for a short while.

This is a lovely quiet park, the heart of the rightly prized independence of this island. Children play, older folk sit and enjoy the peace, only a couple of minutes from the bustling centre. Delightful!

Although people come here for the incredible beauty (and the usually good weather), there also is a lot of history. This is a good reminder of struggles that took place so people could be free.

We were there on a Sunday and most places were either shut down or were shutting down soon. We were driven by the really old trees and were very beautiful, but about 10% or more were dried up or dead! A few flowering bushes provided some color. They were working on the lawn, but because it was Sunday there were no workers at the site. It does provide some shade, but is patchy at best. I did not see any litter on the ground, when we visited. They are a tourist site and because of this they were smart enough to have signs in four languages and explained the historical significance of the spots. It should deserve better care, but then they are working on it at this time.…

Independence Square was nothing special in our books. It was a pretty greenspace with a nice fountain. However, a block away was a really cool clock in the roundabout. Its the Berkley Memorial Clock Tower. Its shape reminds me of the clock in Disney's Beauty and the Beast. Only bigger!…
