When we arrived a tour boat meant the beach seemed crowded. Within 15 mins the boat had gone and we had 2 miles of sand to about 20 people. More people were in the several bars behind the beach. Calm warm waters. Waters get deep slowly. Lovely golden sand. Great view across to St Kitts. Plenty of parking. Office to... More

Still, the beach is empty and has beautiful white sand. You are likely to meet the occasional turtle. But the nearby resort interferes with loud jet ski and speed boad amusement, some of which might kill the turtles.

A meal at Sunshine's Bar and Grill allowed us use of the beach cabanas on Pinney's Beach, which has lovely white sand but too many pebbles and shells for my sore feet. Yet the sunshine and water made it tranquil to rest and enjoy the perfumed Caribbean sea breeze.

This is the place to stay! Snorkeling brought us several conch shells and sand dollars. The sunsets are incredible!

When considering the criteria for an outstanding caribbean beach, Pinney's comes up short on most. It is dominated by the 1/2 mile long Four Seasons resort. There are several good beach bars where you can cheaply rent chairs to the south. However that's about all of the positives. The southern public side was invaded by cruise ship passengers when we... Loved this beach for an ocean walk. However the pull of the waves made it look not so good for swimming. May have gone swimming if there had been others in! Lovely clear water and a nice walk out from Charles town. Sunhine bar a nice place for a shaded drink when walking along. Four seasons a little further on.

We walked from Charlestown and then down the track behind the Pinney Beach Hotel and onto the beach . It is two miles long and passes the four seasons. We didn't go that far as we were in a mission to visit the Sunshine Beach.

This is easily reached from Charleston on foot. Walking is good and there are bars and restaurants along it. The Four Seasons Hotel can be visited off it but Sunshines Bar is possibly its jewel as a must go.

Having heard about the Four Seasons Resort and Nevis island, my expectations were high for a spectacular beach at Pinney's. Not. Having visited most of the Caribbean islands, Pinney's doesn't remind me of the Caribbean. It's adequate if you just want to relax and get some sun. Pinney's is not white sand and turquoise clear waters. Having walked the beach... More
