Set up like most Caribbean botanical gardens, you can pay admission and wander through by yourself if all you want to do is admire flowers and trees in a nice setting. But if you want to learn anything--especially since few plants have sign identification--you need...More

Visited here as part of an island tour. Gloria our guide was very friendly & informative. Gentle walk through the gardens, observed many wonderful plants and flowers. Lovely visit which is ideal for couples, families and small children. Very quiet and peaceful. Lovely oasis.

The Botanical Gardens are great for a visit. As they are the oldest in the Caribbean some of the trees are simply majestic. Worth a visit.

A good walk, uphill, from the port but quite easy. You can hop on the local transport. Well kept gardens with interesting plants but not much in the way of labelling so hire a guide( about $4 )if you want information. There is an entrance...More

This was the prettiest and best maintained of the Caribbean islands botanical gardens I visited. And apparently the oldest botanical gardens in the West. Captain Bligh brought breadfruit plants here in 1793. 5 ECD entry without a guide. Extra for a guide. There is also...More

Worth a wander around. Small entrance fee. Hiring a guide for 10 ECD recommended as the many plants and trees are minimally labelled/described. My guide shared a great deal about not only the plants but also their history in the Gardens and the history of...More

Would it be difficult to get around the gardens in a manual wheelchair? Are there hard surfaced paths?

I would suggest you get a tour guide to help push you. You will have to agree on a fee for his assistance

The Botanical Gardens has paved pathways, and gentle slopes in a few areas. Can use a pushchair and still see most of the Garden.
