A staple for locally flavoured ice-cream (my favs are sou sop/guiness and coconut), delicious burgers, doubles, roti etc There are also a number of bars along the way if you fancy the local beers and then some. It was not as busy for a Fri night which was gr8 as there was not much traffic a definite plus! Worth the trip... More

Outside of the local food stalls and home made ice cream I don't care much for this area. The infestation of roaches are a big detractor. Everything is open late though so if you like grimy night life, it may be for you.

Consistently congested at all times of night and day. Maintenance is poor and constantly ongoing but not getting anything done. However, all drivers seem to get along and road rage is non existent. Like Rodney King said, "Can't everybody just get along?" On Western Main Road they seem to have managed that.

Really nice place to pass through one problem is there is one way in and out which is bad. Traffic was piling up by the minute, one good thing is the scenery, huge unique mansions and a wonderful ocean view.

You should be able to find many good places to eat on this strip. Having a car makes getting around easy, but driver beware. Trinidad drivers are nuts!

The atmosphere is a very busy one. There are many cars travelling and stopping at the bars ,some of which have open areas for relaxing and having drinks. There are also many Chinese and creole restaurants.Roadside hamburger ,doubles, and barbeque stalls are everywhere.

There was a wide selection of street food vendors with reasonable prices. The roti and doubles with pepper was hot but tasty.

There's a guy with a colourful umbrella and a small ice cream cart - I think it's B&G's. He is in front of an open doorway and there are lines every time you go. Local family produced ice cream with flavours like guinness, peanut, coconut (favourite), soursop - delicious, creamy and not like store-bought. Where can you get really fantastic,... More

AKA: St. James, The city that never sleeps. During the day, looks like a regular business (Caribbean) district and main road. At nights, you have a variety of rum bars, restaurants, street food etc. that you will not find in fancy restaurants. If you want to get a true taste of Trinidad street food, then this is the place for... More
