On the day that we rented a car, we made a stop at the Conch Farm. The 20 tour was well done and very informative. There is a fee - I think $10 - but it was worth it.

The cracked conch was wonderful. The restaurant setting and the view of the beach were great too. And it is near the conch farm ($12 for the tour) too.

Probably most people are like me and just know the conch shell and not the creature that lives in it. You'll find out very quickly when they let you pick up a live conch and it stares you down. This farm is a running business and you'll see all the stages of conch development. They are also starting to raise... More

We've done this twice now and have enjoyed it each time. It's very remote and a rustic environment. But very authentic experience and educational for kids and grow ups alike. The tour guides have been super knowledgeable and friendly and the hatcheries are fun to touch the smaller conch. The view of the conch fields is truly beautiful. The huge... More

OK, this is the only one in the world. So, don't ya wanna check out a one in the world kinda place (better than the worl's largest ball of yarn)? Actually very interesting. Show and tell area as well. And you get to hold em and watch the conch snails in action! Makes you think twice about eating conch fritters... More

How do you grow a conch? This experimental farm shows how the popular Caribbean food can be grown sustainably (although not cheaply) with the environment in mind. You will see live conch in various stages of growth. There are a couple "tame" conch that will come out of their shell when picked up and will let you touch them (please... More

We took a pleasant detour on the Conch Farm. The tour (cost $12) started with a biology lesson on the lifecycle of the Queen Conch. Then, we toured the facilities and even held Queen Conch to see them up close. It was fascinating to see them crawl out of their shell. I highly recommend this tour and support their worthy... More

I've always loved conch shells but never knew much about the conch. This short tour provides some really interesting info on the conch - did you know the female produces up to 500K eggs at a time and can produce eggs up to 8 times each mating season? This was actually the only "local" thing we could find on the... More

Very interesting. The tour takes about 30 minutes and expanded my understanding of the conch life cycle, marine ecosystems, and our responsibilities for preservation and sustainability.
