We walked down the beach to Sandy Point because the refuge was closed. You could see the tracks left by the turtles in the sand as they made their way to the sea.

Arguably one of the prettiest beaches on the island. Only accessible certain times of the year, but if you can make it - absolutely go~! The big beach on the end of the Refuge is where the final scene of the movie The Shawshank Redemption...More

This beach is extraordinary. If you are on the island between October and March, this is a must see beach. During the summer you will not be able to go as it is turtle nesting season. To really get the most out of your time...More

What a wonderful beach to walk. Turtle tracks from the water to the nest in numerous locations. The beach is attained via the Sandy Point Park entrance or by, better, a great walk from the end of the road at Frederiksted.

I have snorkeled in the waters at the edge of the refuge, and they are beautiful. Unfortunately, it hasn’t been open to the public when I’ve been here due to turtle conservation efforts.

This was the first beach I visited on my trip to St. Croix. It's only open on weekends and cruise ship days since it's a turtle preserve, so we visited on a Sunday when a cruise ship wasn't in. We went around 12PM... plenty of...More

Unbelievably beautiful beach! White white sand and crystal clear water. It closes for turtle nesting season so check before you make the drive. The water gets deep quickly so it is best for people who feel comfortable swimming. NO SHADE! Sunscreen is a MUST.
