The Botanical Gardens are a wonderful diversion--an easy walk through several different spaces. This is one of our favorite places on St. Croix; so much that we took out memberships during our month this year. Last night, we attended a special event--a guided walk by moonlight, with the botanist for the gardens. He was extraordinary--incredibly knowledgeable about the gardens and... More

Visited as part of sweenys island tour and it was a great stop. The grounds are beautiful and the combination of plantation history and botanical info made this a great activity. I was very surprised by the diversity of plants and trees. Having a guided tour by Sweeny was very helpful, pointing out different plants and relating them to the... More

The gardens are beautiful and we are so glad that we decided to go. We went early in the day around 9:30am and that left plenty of time for the beach and pool later. There are numerous shady areas so you aren't walking around in the full sun the entire time. We have visited many botanic gardens around the world... More

Self guided tour was a nice stroll. There is an admission charge. Something to do on the west side of the island.

I didn't think I would be really big on a botanical garden but I'll tell you what this was an outstanding experience. I would have to rated as the best thing I have done on the island other than lay on the beach. The grounds were beautiful it was peaceful, you could go around at your own pace and there... More

The St. George Village Botanical Garden in St. Croix was a double treat with the variety of beautiful plants as well as ruins of a sugar plantation. Special gardens such as the medicinal herb garden and the spice garden give a picture into the use of native plants. The additional display areas about the poor treatment of the slave laborers... The Botanical Garden was exactly what I hoped for. We enjoyed seeing the historical sugar mill ruins; walking through the rain forest; and looking at all the exotic plants. We learned what plant produced noni juice - we goofed around with vines and odd metal objects sticking out of the ground. We took lots of pictures of beautiful plantings. Well... More

The gardens are tastefully interspersed in the remains of a sugar plantation. This is the most creative gardens we have been to. A very nice compliment to the beautiful sea views in St. Croix

I really enjoyed walking the gardens here. We went in December and were lucky to hit up an annual Christmas craft festival with lots of Christmas shopping and great food too. If you go in December, check your timing to include this.
