we drove into town for a meeting and spent several hours in the downtown district, walking and taking in the sights. there was not a ship in port so many of the stores were not open, but the character of the town was still there. the folks are friendly and helpful. the town could use more parking for sure.

Rainbow beach is a nice spot to relax while in port. Not a large beach and it's a bit rocky to get into water, but once in its all Sandy. Nice markets and music right by the port and beach.

Just an awesome town to where everyone makes you feel like family, small town feeling where everyone is so polite, that it feels weird,i come from California where everyone's in a hurry and they don't have time to even say hi,everyone says good morning good afternoon and goodnight, even the kids.

Frederiksted definitely has less to offer than Christiansted. The people in the city are super friendly and we were glad we visited for that reason alone. The waterfront is beautiful and I would like to return to go diving around the pier and to visit Rainbow beach. The city is limited when it comes to shopping or eating venues. We... More

I have been to St. Croix on 4 different trips. Each one, I have stayed in Frederiksted. Christiansted should definitely be visited...it is good too. However, nothing beats Frederiksted for the quiet, layed back, truly island experience. Not overly commercialized. Just good people, great beaches, fine accommodations, breathtaking sunsets and exquisite food offerings!!!

It looks like it is still in a recession. The Fort and the pier are very nice, but a lot of businesses have went under. There are a few places to eat and a few bars, but not much else. I did like it, the people are what makes it nice. Everyone was so nice to my wife and I. It is... More

Frederiksted is a neat town. Not as touristy as Christiansted. The food seemed more reasonably priced in Frederiksted and was just as good. Enjoyed the shops and the beaches. The pier was neat and the museum. Good place to visit if your on the island.

If you want to get away from it all then Frederiksted is the place to go. I grew up here and was saddened to see how quiet it is in this once bustling town. But go with the flow, don't expect much except to hang out and relax.
