Stop on the side of the road for photo-op. You won't be disappointed. Beautiful blue waters and skies.

Gorgeous view
Jun. 2018 • Couples
The view here was really beautiful. My husband and I enjoyed the stop to take photos, however it is the off season and there were no cruise ships in port so I can see how this wouldn’t be enjoyable if it was crowded. There really isn’t much room for several cars.

A quick stop with panoramic view of Magens Bay
Jan. 2018 • Couples
The stop is quick because parking is sparse and competitive to get due to the tours stopping here and the vendors, especially the ones with the colorful donkeys. Said to be the lookout point for Sir Francis Drake. Sit on his bench and ponder the age old question: was Drake an explorer or ruthless privateer?

Embrace the journey and enjoy the detours
Jun. 2017 • Couples
We take photos as a reminder of the moments otherwise gone. Drake seat was short rest stop along our journey. We captured and embraced the moment and appreciated the break from the steep winding ride upwards. We revered taking in a little history while soaking up the beauty of nature and just enjoying the moment. Bonus was a great photo opportunity.

Beautiful look out spot (better view than Mountain Top)
May 2018 • Couples
This is a beautiful lookout spot off the side of the road on the mountain. There are a few parking spots to stop for a moment, and an actual "seat" to enjoy the view. Mountain Top is up the road a few minutes away, and looks down over the same area of the island (Magen's Bay), and while higher up, Mountain Top's view has power lines and a couple buildings in view, whereas Drake's Seat view is a little less obstructed (and easier to get to).

The views at Drake’s seat are outstanding and it’s a quick stop on the side of the road. Worth the stop for sure to sit and enjoy the beauty overlooking Magens Bay.

Excellent views
Apr. 2018 • Couples
Legend has it that Sir Francis Drake sat here to look far out to sea and to spot the odd Spanish vessel sailing by. If it's true then he certainly knew how to pick the best look-out places! From here you have a beautiful view over Magens Bay and beyond. And, yes, there is a seat here (a bench, actually) although its history is a little more recent than Drake - it was put here by Arthur Fairchild, philanthropist, in 1933

Hard to beat the gorgeous view from this pullout on the road. If you can find your way to this spot, you won't be disappointed (on your way to 13 restaurant!)

Worth the stop
Mar. 2018
Drake’s seat gives you a fantastic view of the BVI’s and St. John on a clear day and you can see for miles. There is parking to pull right up to the overlook so you can hope out and take pictures. On a busy day it will be packed with taxis with cruise ship passengers and it will be hard to get a good picture. The view is worth the stop but it will only take you a few minutes to admire and take a picture before heading on
