The architecture is a bit different for a fort. If you are into history well worth the stop. You don't need to much time to see it all.

On a recent cruise we sought out Ft. Christian, but found it closed. A ragged hand written note on the door said it was closed for repairs. I contacted the Visitor's Bureau and got this response: For a tour of this historic site, you would have to call to make reservations. Phone: 340-776-4566.

A beautiful old Fort in the heart of the city. The vender market nearby was busy but there were really not a lot of people around the Fort. There were public washroom in a trailer near the Fort and they were kept very clean and tidy. A nice touch for those travelling in that area.

We stopped here as one of our many stops for the day. The history of the building was interesting but we loved the free roaming chickens. Very colorful part of the Island history and a great stop.

Fort Christian has been watching over the downtown area of Charlotte Amalie since 1671. It began as a mighty fort and has served other purposes in history, but it still stands mighty downtown. We stayed in an apartment across the street and felt honored to be in the presence of this historical structure. It is presently being restored and we... More

This was one stop on our self-guided tour of historic downtown. It was a hot and humid day so the walking up and down the streets was a bit uncomfortable. To our disappointment, the Fort was closed so we didn't have the opportunity to go inside.

Fort Christian is a great piece of History. Although I'm not sure what the plan is with it. It needs to be completely restored and open for tours. While we were visiting it was closed and nobody seemed to know what the long range plan was for it.

Great place to hang out when visiting the island. Always meet nice and fun loving people there. Not so much fun if it's raining, make sure you were high SPF.

It's just a photo spot, you can't get in because of renovations but the outside make a nice photograph.

This was just another of the historic public facilities that is "under restoration", has been for some time, and no one seems to have a definite re-opening date.
