The Emancipation Garden is centrally located in town. It is not very big and you can see everything there relatively quickly. When I went through, there were quite a few homeless at the park there. I never felt threatened, but just keep your eyes open.

This is small park in Charlotte Amalie on the edge of the tourist shopping area. There's not much to it, though it does have historical significance for the people of St Thomas. it seemed a little grotty and unkept, but it is apparently a favourite...More

Though the park itself is nice, during our trip we witnessed two unsavory incidents involving homeless people who were intoxicated. I would not feel comfortable spending any length of time in the park after seeing these problems. In one incident, a young man who was...More

The emancipation garden is beautiful but too many homeless people hang out here. It is in the heart of town and you can visit and sit on one of the benches but be prepared to get entertained

Emancipation Garden, located in downtown Charlotte Amalie, is a comfortable place in which to sit under 100+ year old trees, and enjoy being in the Caribbean.

This a park where the locals and tourist van go and just relax. There are Park chairs so you can sit and relax. There are plenty of trees to get you shade from the hot sun.

Take a break from shopping or sight seeing and sit or stroll thru this nice historical little park. In February when we were showing off Main Street to family visitors we made sure the park was a stop before getting back in the car.
