We planned our walking tour of town to include this place. On arrival we found the doors locked. A passerby told us the museum was closed for an unknown length of time due to renovation! A simple sigh would have been nice!

Another stop on our self-guided historic tour. It is down the hill from the Government House, Unfortunately, the museum was closed when we were there. Suggestion - check their hours before going.

Seven Arches gets its name from the seven beautiful arches that form the staircase of the home. The house was built around 1800 and is decorated as the typical home would be in the Virgin Islands back in the late 1800's. The owner/curator does tours by appointment only so you must call and schedule something in advance.

This was a wonderful museum. It felt more like visiting a local's home; the proprietor is very friendly and had many great stories to share with us about the museum's history and that of this neighbourhood in Charlotte Amalie. It was a welcome break from the more commercial spots in town. Those were enjoyable as well but this was a... More

This ittle private museum in the centre of Charlotte Amalie is really a little pearl. The collections are not very extensive, bur our guide made the most out of them through an inspiring and inspired presentation. A small collection of memorabilia for sale, and a video presentation of aspects of colonial Virgin Islands.

A good stop on a walking tour. Might be hard to find. Just walk up the alley that has their sign on it. Wait for her to put the dogs away though!
