I love it but they need to clean it up and do something about the homelessness!

I love the ambience of the historic feel of this place with all the alleys, old brick, cobblestone etc. I was told there are 75 jewelry stores here. Free drinks at a lot of the jewelry stores and free rum sampling at some stores. I bought a watch here and seeing that we were there for a week, I price... More

We walked the shopping areas and found the shops to be very nice, the street not so much. I don’t go into the jewelry stores, I don’t understand why they’re in every cruise ship port, so no comment on them. We look for local art and found several places that sold local art. We ended up buying a few prints... More

We had a rainy day so we visited the shopping area in downtown Charlotte Amalie. Lots of jewelry stores, liquor stores, etc but not a lot of big bargains. Level of product understanding varied widely from store to store. Prices though were pretty much the same.

We come here everytime we are in town but to me Carribean shopping is all the same. You are either looking for something or not. This time, I was not....so, nothing really appealed to me. I can say that you have bought camera's, jewerly and clothing here prior to this visit. There is something for everyone! My fav is the... More

If you get to Charlotte-Amalie and want a very attractive town with a Caribbean flair, this is where you want to be------especially off the main drag and down the side streets/alley ways. There are plenty of shops, restaurants, and bars, Some are even reasonably priced. This is a common stop for tours and cruise ship tourists,

Spent several hours roaming the area and wore a few numbers off the credit card. Very safe and fun place to explore the local lore, shopping, architecture and watering holes.
