Coral Bay is on the East End of St John. We went just before several bars close for the season, so all the bars and restaurants were open, but relaxed and casual. We had a great time traveling to the beaches near by. Salt Pond, Cinnamon, Mahoo are only a short drive.

so visiting st john, you have to go to the East side, and experience it all. Coral Bay has Haulover beach, a real treat. Salt Pond always a fun quiet place. try kiddle beach, it is small and rocky when enter-but worth the sites. I love Coral bay for the laid back life. "Save Coral Bay" is non profit organization... If you're going to the East End for an adventurous drive, or out to Salt Pond, you're going through Coral Bay. Small community with a fire department. Funky shops like Skinny Legs, probably most famous one are located here. Probably best known for the harbor and a place to keep your sailboat. As you come into the area, at the... More

Getting out of Cruz Bay and past just the North Shore beaches is a must. Use Coral Bay as a lunch hangout when visiting Salt Pond and Lamshur. Its more quiet and channels the St John of old.

Ok so you are in heaven on the best island ever. Now get going to the east end and get ready for a privite beach. Bring your walking shoes and take one of the trails a short hike to find a beach that often is deserted. The east end has so many cool spots and good food and drinks too.... More

Coral Bay was perfect for us. It's much more private than the Cruz Bay area and we really enjoyed the restaurants in the area. North beaches a short 10-15 drive. Will definitely stay in this area again.

We loved staying on this quieter end of the island! Even though it was Carnival Week when we were there, we had a peaceful idyllic retreat. Many of the beaches were nearly empty!

I love staying in Coral Bay. The drive isn't as bad as some make it out to be, the views are to die for and the wildlife is plentiful. Various beaches, restaurants and stores make it easy to stay on the "sleepy side" of the island for a few days at a time.

Coral Bar is my favorite side of the Island. We go to St John a few times a year & I always try to stay over here. It is very low key so if you are looking for a lot of action, stay near Cruz Bay instead. I love this place so much, I don't want to tell anyone. :-)

Coral Bay is the second city of St. John but so much more the quiet town compared to Cruz Bay. There are a lot of larger boats docked here, a few restaurants and bars, a few shops. We did not see anything "hopping" like in Cruz Bay. Seems like a lot of people live here or rent homes or condos... More
