Perhaps it was bad luck but staff not friendly or very helpful. Ferry on time and currently leaves every hour on the hour for Cruz Bay If you are arriving from airport give yourself a good hour to get to Red Hook

We took the car ferry from St. Thomas to St. John and back. We had read that we should expect to wait because of all the construction traffic going back and forth so we have ourselves extra time. The staff at the ports appear to...More

Have utilized the ferry system on multiple visits, they have always been reliable. The staff are friendly, and the trip across is comfortable.

Red Hook ferry is always fast and easy and only $8.50 per person one way. I've been there 5 times and it's always prompt and fast. Never had a problem and there's a bar right on the ferry dock to relax with.

We took the Red Hook to Cruz Bay ferry to St. John and back again to St. Thomas as we headed home. The people were friendly and both trips were noneventful!

The Ferry from Red Hook was so much fun. We sat outside up top and enjoyed the breeze and sun. No better way to get to St. John. It leaves every hour so no worrying about getting back and forth at a specific time.

Yes, there are two different ferries. One thing you might consider is many of the rentals in St. John are brand new Jeeps; which are probably better vehicles for the island. We got a beat up car in St. Thomas; and... More

The ferry runs on the hour most of the day so you could manage a quick trip. it runs more frequently early am for workers during the week. Bars and shops are easy walking distance from the port in St. John.
