Good place to train beginning snorkelers. We brought our daughter here for her first snorkel. Parking is available and close to town.

We stopped at hawksnest beach today and it was rather crowded and loud. We prefer the quieter spots and with all that St. John has to offer, if the beach you are at doesn't satisfy...go to the next one on your list ..so we did...More

This beach is beautiful. There are lots of stingrays even right up close to shore which was cool to see. This beach has a public parking lot and it's a short walk down to the beach. The water is crystal clear and warm. I would...More

I finally made it to Hawksnest (my 10th visit to the island) and wonder what took me so long! While the beach looked busy with all of the cars in the lot, we didn't feel like we were surrounded by crowds. The water and views...More

Hawksnest Beach is definitely where the locals go, it is closest to Cruz Bay. It is a great family beach, white sand, the beach faces east, the mornings seem to be best calm and serene.

We took a chance and it was so worth it! There are limited facilities at this beach and that makes it secluded and quiet. We took our towels, cooler, and lunch. Laying under the sea grape trees could not have been more wonderful.

White sand beach, beautiful views. Had clusters of rocks in water where schools of fish could be seen. Children would be able to snorkel there in safe waters. Some Picnic tables, pit toilets. Get there before 9 am to beat the crowds.

This beach is closest to Cruz Bay, so travel time is short. The beach is fairly narrow and steeper than Trunk Bay but free and not as crowded. There are picnic tables and shelters along with restroom facilities. Parking is limited, like all St John...More
