About
The Bahamas Rum Cake Factory story begins in the heart of downtown Nassau, Bahamas in the year 2000. George Bates, originally from the United Kingdom founded a recipe that would inspire his “Original” Rum Cake. Everyone loved his recipe so much that he decided to open a small Rum Cake shop, a store that has since then grown into the most favorite brand of Rum Cake in The Bahamas. Today, the Bahamas Rum Cake Factory still sits in the same location it started at, and has created a culture so irresistibly delicious that in 2014 it was recognized by the state as the Official Rum Cake of The Bahamas. Loaded with our top-secret ingredients, baked to perfection, and gently marinated in our signature brand of Ole Nassau Bahamian Rum, our cakes have become not just a dessert, but also an important part of a new lifestyle for both Bahamians and tourists.

I walked over there and bought several cakes. The store was cool, nice to see where they make the cakes. i recommend. Free rum shots

They have some sample to try, before you purchase. Definitely worth it to buy them here. Taste awesome, even for people who didn't take alcohol like me. Bought in bulk and shared with family and friends..my kids love them.

Delicious cakes. We made a haul. Lol. They also freeze very well. Banana Rum is a favorite and the Original Rum w/ pecans, too. You really can't go wrong. They are ALL winners.

Stopped at the Rum Cake Factory as part of an island tour (Marvelous Tours). Very friendly and helpful service. The rum cakes are DE-licios! Reasonable prices.

Such a cool little place! Delicious and authentic, you can see the cakes being made in the back! Samples were amazing. Bought 10 small cakes in a variety of flavours as gifts, then came back the next day to buy another 12, as we realised how yummy they were and the fact they last a whole year just as tasty and moist! Free shots of rum if you buy a few cakes or more….friendly and super helpful staff…good bundle deals. Take a bit of your vacation home!

We bought a six pack so we got a free shot of rum outside to the right upon exiting. There are free samples.

Regardless of where you're staying, you must come and get cake from here. They have several different flavors . They give you samples and a shot of rum :-). From downtown nassau it's about a20 minute walk but can be easily assessed by a cab which are plenty.

The rum cakes we bought were yummy!!!! The store is small and very busy but they have lots of cake and different types!!!! We tried a variety pack and ate them all that night!!!!

While the store can be busy at times, it was worth the walk to visit. The ladies working in the store were fun to talk with. You can buy cakes individually or in gift packes. All are well packed in vacuum sealed bags so they are nice and moist when opened. Not too strong a rum taste. We bought four different types and while they were all good I have to say the flavours are not that strong so it was hard to distinguish their individual flavour. Beyond that, very yummy!

This is where you should go if you want good rum cakes in the Bahamas. The rum cakes I bought from this place were delicious and they weren't soggy and covered in alcohol like the rum cakes at some other places. I also got to buy some Bahamas Gombay Punch, which is apparently only available in the Bahamas. That was pretty good as well.

How far is the rum cake factory from the cruise ship rocks? Is it a short walk (less than 40 mins?)

We are located approximately 10 mins walk from cruise ship dock on the main bay street heading towards paradise island bridge.

There is no charge to enter the store and, as always, there are free samples to try before you buy. Taking a tour is the easiest way to get to us to beat the heat during the summer months.
