The Bahamas has truly lost its luster over the years. Many stores are gone so Bay Street caters to the cruise ship crowd that runs off the boat to shop. Bay Street is pretty rundown now. How much perfume and jewelry do they think tourists...More

The cruise ships dock about 1 block away from Bay Street. This street is lined with jewelry stores (Little Switzerland, Diamond International, John Bull, David Yurman, etc...) as well as clothing stores and gift shops. The entrance to the Straw Market is also on Bay...More

This street resembles all other such street in the Caribbean where cruise ships dock. Venders try to get you in their shops, offering great deals. And many of the same stores you would see on other islands.

This needs to be on your shortlist of things to do in Nassau. I would spend at least a half day stolling the shops, bars, restaurants, people watching from the nearby cruise docks, and oh yes, the straw market. It does make for a fun...More

Lots of shopping opportunities, mostly diamonds and clothing. There are bars and a few restaurants, too. Pretty views of cruise ships and Atlantis.

This is a busy area in Nassau near the cruise ships. Lots of people window shopping and lots of stores to walk in and explore. It's ok for a hour or so but be ready for crowds.

Nice Nassau area. Be careful that you could pay 3 times more for jewelry than elsewhere and the cabbies are everywhere. It should be regulated better.

I've come to the Bahamas for years. It's nice to see the dame shops. I have my favorite linen store which carries the size table cloth I need. But some things have changed. There really aren't any bargains anymore. With the advent of the internet...More

This street is located right off the cruise pier. My wife and I walked left to what appeared to be the end of Shopping. Then back again towards the ship to the end again and into the Hilton hotel. Perhaps 20 blocks. It is busy...More

Not sure what the question really was. But Bay street is safe during the day but early evenings may not be to bad if you are use to city life (I'm originally from Philly & have been to Iraq) because it is a tourist area of... More
