If you enjoy getting harassed and yelled at then by all means stop in for a visit. It's not a true straw market and most of the stuff there is quite junky. We walked all the way through the market and stopped by a vendor...More

Crowded and hot, the aisles are narrow and cluttered. All of the vendors have the exact same stuff and they hound you to stop and buy.

Don't go here. Only pushy people we encountered the whole week were here. No thx and cruise ship trap

Don't go here if you don't like pushy people. It's very overwhelming as there are many "shops" selling the same items and each shop owner is trying to get you to buy something from them.

The Straw Market is a cool place to visit for some inexpensive souvenirs from the Bahamas. Now get ready for the heat...it is pretty toasty in there even with fresh air circulating throughout. The place is pretty much a market full of all the typical...More

We were staying on Paradise Island just off Nassau. My husband and I walked to the water taxi. It cost us $8 US dollars and we west across the water and were dropped off right by the straw market. The boat ride was very nice....More

When in Nassau, do as the tourist do, Check out the Straw Market. Walking distance from the cruise ship. Indoors??? Mostly. Cramped, yes. Bargaining, yes.Take lots of small bills. If you give someone a $20 they will claim they have no change, or they walk...More

A lot of junk crammed in! Aggressive sellers that will reduce their prices, especially near closing time. Be sure to get actual handmade goods, not the stuff mass produced in another country! Once you've been pnce, you probably don't need to go back

Find all the gifts and souvenirs at the straw market or on bay street. You won't be disappointed. I purchase little skateboard key chains for my coworkers with Nassau Bahamas on them. Awesome for them, because they have me never been.

This place is packed with 99% junk! The vendors are aggressive, there is barely enough room to walk through the aisles, and most of the vendors have the same items. I purchased a tshirt and it never even survived the first washing without the design...More

It's a very short walk, almost just outside the port.

Where in Nassau can I get the collectors bottle of Bahama Sand. The ones with sayings on them like... "Thank You Lord For Letting Me Visit The Bahamas". & How far is it from the Cruise Ship Port

As soon as you port there is a market. And you can walk off/on board all day if you like. Or grab a cab to the beach for $2 a person Atlantis is also $2-3 cab per person.
Would I be able to go to the straw market with a mobility scooter? I know technically I can, but...would it be worth the effort and frustration? Or is it fairly open? Thank you -

There are some stalls in an open areas across from Senor Frogs where you could view easily. (as mrcree mentioned) I preferred this area, the woman are busy weaving the straw right in front of you. In the closed area its all... More
