Great Swim Beach not great for sea life
Apr. 2021
The water was gorgeous. The sea life was nearly non existent. We took our snorkel gear and were able to see plenty of seashells no live mollusks in them. We saw no fish. As we were walking back after an hour of swimming we saw a ray. That was it.
If you are looking for a great day at the beach of swimming and laying out then this is the beach for you.

Best Beach in Nassau
Apr. 2021 • Couples
Best beach in Nassau- of course it has white sand and crystal clear water, but the Ocean Club resort keeps all the seaweed, etc cleaned off beaches daily (if not more often than that), which makes it literally breathtaking.

To do
Dec. 2020
Each time we wanted to discover a new beach, we liked very much the one because of the beautiful vegetation.

There are better beaches and experiences.

The beach is beautiful. It's not protected at all like Junkanoo Beach where you get a calm water experience so there's a higher chance you're going to get rougher waters. I actually didn't mind the vendors, if you visit with them and have a conversation rather than being a jerk you will have a lovely experience with them. Bahamian people are wonderful. I did have a major issue with the taxi set up. I understand that the Bahamians unionize drivers and keep everything organized because it is fair but I can tell you that if you're coming off a cruise ship and are taking one of the taxis offered at the port to this location, expect to be at best, underwhelmed, at worst, a little worse for wear. Compared to other areas not catering to cruise passengers where the buses and taxi's are well kept...these taxi's are barely held together with duct tape. You might find ants and other creatures living in the seats of your van. I'm not actually kidding. These cars must be parked in a field somewhere when not in use. There were actual hordes of ants coming out of the seatbelt wells. For the seatbelts that didn't work. The other incident we experience was coming off the beach where a taxi driver was trying to direct us to the taxis and I wasn't quite ready yet because I needed to get my daughter dressed and get the sand off her in the shade somewhere. The man took my avoidance as trying to usurp his taxi authority and started to verbally attack me yelling that I thought I could come to "his country" and "do what I want" and not "how things work". Thankfully a few Bahamian women intervened and got between me and him to tell him off and help us get away.

Excellent beach
Jan. 2021
This is a very nice beach, water is an unbelievable colour. You do not have to stay in a hotel along the beach to enjoy it. There are a couple of public entrances. You can enjoy a walk from one end to the other end. This is a must visit beach.

LOVED!
Feb. 2020
Went to Cabbage Beach on Feb 26, 2020 when our cruise ship was docked in Nassau. We took a taxi for $4 per person (like a big van) and they dropped us off steps from the sand. It was super easy to get a taxi - we didn't have to look for one - they look for you as you get off the ship! This beach is GORGEOUS and we are so glad we went there on our "do it yourself" excursion. We did not rent chairs or umbrellas (they said they would give us a "deal" for $5 per chair and $10 for the umbrella. Instead we placed our beach towels from our cruise line in the early morning shade and enjoyed paradise! We were there from 8:45 - 11:00 a.m. Then we walked down the beach to Atlantis where we looked around. We could have taken the taxi back (they said the taxi's wait right where they had dropped us off), but we decided to take the water taxi instead. It is an easy 10 minute stroll from Atlantis to the ferry terminal. The ferry was also $4 per person one way and gave us a different view on the way back. We ate a later lunch back on the ship. This beach was so easy to get to, only cost us $16 for two people for taxi/water taxi, and was possibly the prettiest beach I had ever been to. Would love to go there again!!

nice beach, but lilttle parking and tough to get to
Mar. 2020
Like most places on Paradise Island, you will encounter impediments due to private land ownership. There is really no parking here so I'm not sure how normal people enjoy this beach. I thought Junkanu was much better.

Beautiful, clean, and accessible beach for budget vacationers
Apr. 2019
Visited this beach during a cruise visit. We decided to pick this beach as the trip advisor reviews indicated it is not overcrowded compared to those near the cruise terminal. The beach was beautiful and clean; the service staff were friendly and always accessible. We took advance of great drink specials, served beach side. Also located within walking distance of the Atlantis and other resorts, so not hard to get a cab to and from the beach. Well worth the cab ride.

Great area to walk
Feb. 2020
The beach is clean and not much litter or sea weed. We walked east around the point to the golf course area and back to the Rio Hotel. Since it is a public beach, you can stop and sit/relax any time you want. The beach is not very flat as there was a large slope to the water so that made walking a little difficult. More inland, the sand is very loose and also challenging to walk after a while. This appeared to be a safe area (middle of the day). There are no areas to stop and buy a drink or food.

After walk to far end of beach, water was clear and beach woderful. snorkeled by rocks and saw schools of fish (people had been feeding fish so they gathered by shore) and a ray. Away from the crowds of people was great. Next time i would bring more water and snakcs.
