Fantastic Finshing Charter and Guide - Hunter Charters (YKNOT BOAT) and Ryan Major!

My family travelled to Nassau for Christmas this year, and we had the pleasure of booking with Huntere Charters on December 26th for a fishing excursions. Our Fishing Guide was Ryan Major. He was so very engaging! We had a blast. He not only taught us a lot about fishing that we did not know although we had fished, often. He, also, provided a great tour of the islands that we passed as we went out to the reef. He had so much information about the various resorts and houses that we passed (e.g. this one was in a James Bond Movie; this one was owned by a certain famous movie star, etc.). He helped us catch some incredible fish including some wonderful red snapper. When we arrived back at the dock, he walked us over to a cute local restaurant with picnic tables outside. The staff there cooked up the fish, and it was delicious! I would highly recommend Hunter Charters and ask for Ryan!

Caught a great barracuda with Jim!

I have been deep sea fishing before but this was my most successful trip so far. The conditions on the open ocean were less than ideal and I wondered if we would be able to fish at all. Jim took us trolling along a sheltered route and I caught two small barracuda quite quickly. We then moved a little further on and were rewarded with a 3 foot barracuda. A very enjoyable morning!

Fantastic Fishing Experience!! Great for all ages!

I cannot say enough great things about D’Angelo and Mike-our Captain and First Mate. We were with our two kids and had 4 hours of fishing the Atlantic with them. They were so knowledgeable about all the fish we caught. They bated all our hooks and had everything we needed to catch the 30+ fish we caught-our 10 yr old daughter catching the most. They helped us all reel and held our poles for us. The boat was kept in pristine condition and they wiped and moped repeatedly keeping it very tidy throughout our entire 4 hours. It was the highlight of our trip. I’d recommend Hunter Charters to anyone looking for an authentic fishing experience in the Bahamas. A+

We went to Rose Island to hang out for the day with my family. We were warned that the water was a little rougher than normal, which obviously is not in their control. The captain P.J. and his mate Jake took an alternate route which was less rough. We hardly knew that we were in rougher than normal waters. It felt so smooth. They chose a secluded part of the island so we had our full privacy. The beach and the water is amazing!! I was able to attach my personal iPod to the stereo when I wanted so I had my choice of music which was nice. Although, they were also playing their own music on the ride to the island which was what we came to hear, different local Caribbean music. I would recommend this crew to anyone. They were attentive and so helpful. I'm not a fisherman but maybe next time I'll go on a fishing adventure and maybe catch a big fish! They talked about their fishing trips and it sounds like something I need to try next time!

Memorable experience of a lifetime!

Captain Isaac and Flowers made my trip very memorable. First time on the ocean and they made me feel comfortable and safe. Explaining what they were doing and keeping me informed of what was going on. Catching a big Mahi Mahi and a shark will be something I'll never forget. Great people to take you fishing. Highly recommend!

Deep sea fishing in Nassau

Spent the morning deep sea fishing with Kamar and Andre. They were very accommodating, friendly and knowledgable. Kamar made sure that our son felt included and when we were onto fish, he made sure he was doing what he needed to catch the fish. The whole morning was brilliant on the boat and catching two fish was a bonus. Because of the time of year we caught a Mahi Mahi and a Barracuda, both very cool. Kamar was kind enough to fillet the Mahi Mahi for us, which we then took round the corner to the Poop Deck restaurant where they cooked it up for us, and it was delicious.

We did a lot of research on different companies, prices, experience and reviews, and decided to go with these guys, we made the right decision.

Captain PJ and his crew made sure we all had a great time.

Captain PJ took my wife, my 76-year-old mom, and our two kids (14/16) and a friend of theirs each out for a stroll. Although they were concerned about our ability to catch any "big" fish that day because of weather elements, Jake, the 1st Mate, snagged us not one but TWO barracudas! Both averaged around 15-20 pounds and put up a pretty big fight. After the second, we were close to an outer island, where everyone had the opportunity to snorkel in beautiful water with a wide variety of gorgeous fish. They had soda and water available, prepared all of the fishing equipment, and provided the scuba gear as well. Capn PJ talked with us the entire way and was super friendly, happy, and professional. Everyone had a blast.

Great crew!

D'Angelo and Kamar were great! We caught fish 30 minutes into our trip and proceeded to catch fish for the entire day! That's what we came for. We told them that we wanted to catch all the different fish and boy did we! What a variety! This trip did not disappoint!

Great Excursion For Family with Young Kids

Hunter Charters was highly recommended by our hotel and did not disappoint. My family of 6 was met dockside by the crew of PJ, Jake, Jay and Matty. We had a loose itinerary - basically just wanted to get out on a boat, tour some islands and snorkel. Captain PJ made great suggestions along the way - snorkeled along a reef and old wreck, headed to gorgeous Rose Island for a private swim and hike, lunch at Pearl Island and back to port. The crew was extremely knowledgeable about the history and area. We had a fantastic day and can’t wait to do it again.

PS….the rumours are true. Jake loves to clean so rest assured your boat will be spic and span!

Dream boat ride in the Bahamas

Jay, Jake, PJ and Justin were the nicest and most accommodating crew. Our group was made up of family and friends, from grandparents to little ones and the crew did a great job meeting the needs of our whole group. Bonus- I lost my Apple Watch while swimming by the boat and Jay dove down to the bottom of the ocean and retrieve my watch for me. Awesome group!
