We visited for just one day, on a cruise ship. I did research in advance, and chose Grand Bahama Divers. This turned out to be a good decision. The down-side is their location is a good distance from the cruise port, so a taxi ride ($27.00 each way) is required. Needless to say this bumps up the cost of your... More

I received my Open Water certification at Grand Bahama Scuba, so it only made sense to go back to them for my NITROX certification. I contacted Melinda weeks ahead of time and was able to register through SDI for the academic portion of the certification, so I only had some reviews and the dives to complete when I arrived. Fred... More

Have just completed a 5 day (10 dive) package with Grand Bahama Scuba run by Fred & Melinda and had a great time. Over the 5 days I was diving with them we visited a variety of sites including a couple of medium size freighters and several reefs seeing a wide variety of the marine life native to this Island... This review is from a dive trip a while back (I just opened a Tripadvisor acct). I was on my own for this trip as my wife was not feeling well. What I paid for was supposedly a shark dive where they bring food to attract the sharks. On the way to the dive site, the owner (Fred) was pontificating... More

My wife and I had visited Grand Bahama several times and fell in love with a condo we found in Coral Beach. As SCUBA divers, however, we were sorely disappointed in the diving we found around the island. Because we try to avoid big dive ops, we steered clear of UNEXO, and instead, we tried a couple of the smaller... More

Fred and Melissa offer a great family alternative experience to the "big names" and full boat alternatives. Don't be fooled by Fred's low key style, he is all professional and he really cares about the diving environment. Softly didactic, Fred provided instruction for my grandson's open water, while Melinda gave him hands on help during his first deep dive on... More

I've been meaning to write this review for some time now. I have tried diving several times without success. My fear of water and the unknown has not allowed me to fully experience diving. I went to a Sunday class with a friend to see if we would feel comfortable with this dive shop. We both did and then went... More

We dove here 3 years ago and now me and my son came back. Fred and Melinda have been great. Their boat was down and they got us on other boats everyday we wanted to dive. They provided equipment and rides to other boats. Thanks again Fred and Melinda for a wonderful time!!!!!!

My wife and I like to dive but the other three in our group only snorkle. GBS was able to accommodate the group on the same trip. And, as a plus, it was just us 5 while we saw massive groups on other boats. While they were a bit late picking us up, they more than made up for it... More

My husband just recently became scuba certified with grand Bahamas scuba. The owners Fred and Melinda are extremely knowledgable and super nice! They take the time to educate you properly! We would recommend this dive shop to anyone looking to dive in the Bahamas. Very impressed! Melinda also takes amazing underwater photos and offers a course for underwater photography. We... More
